Quicker than expected return for Tom?

i would be thinking since things are going well that after the second bye would be good, misses just 3 games yet gets 6 weeks to recover.

It'd be nice for him if he got to make an Origin debut this year. So I hope he comes back in time to push for that. But otherwise they should take their time with him.

The club must NOT rush the kid back. We need him primed for our assault on the finals. We have cover in the mean time and we are well placed. We need to learn from last season when the kid played on with a dodgy ankle and needed surgery as a result. He is a long term player for us and the club need a long term strategy for him.
Agree bro and just because the boot is off doesn't guarantee a faster return .

Absolutely mate but gee i was so impressed with Wrighty...a real mature professional who was just so solid last week and didnt overplay his hand. We are lucky to have a bloke of his calibre ready to go when we need him. Onya Matty!
Its great to have a backup like him isn't it, shannon nevin ...

I'm pretty sure the club know what they are doing. He will be back when he is fit; whether that is sooner or later will depend on when he is fit, not what Zorba writes in his column or what we tell the club do from the forum boards.

Are you serious Snake? Surely the head coach, trainers and medical staff take notice of the esteemed Silvertails.

How else would you explain the massive improvement in 2017?

Seems like he's coming along well if he's out having a hit!

Won't be surprised to see him named in 21 or something

Wow, looking at that photo, didn't realise the size of Sironen and Tom if that's AFB they are next too

Rest him. Doubtful Tom will get origin call up this year either after teddy's blinder, he deserves to be picked again. Tom's time will come soon enough. And as much as I want him to be selected, I also don't for selfish club reasons. GO MANLY. We're going to give things a real shake this year 🙂

Taking the Knights lightly or going in expecting to win would be a mistake we've made plenty of times before. Of course don't rush Tommy back but if he's ready, let him play. We must get the win before the bye.

From Bulldog Ritchie

Manly may name Tom Trbojevic for Friday night's game against Newcastle when team is announced tomorrow

I hope not. We should win that one in a canter...unless we have one of those off games. But let Tom recover a couple of weeks more to be sure he's ready. Dont want to see him come out slightly lame and finish on a stretcher.

On the other hand, needle him up, strap him and get him out on the field. Get a splint and boot on Jorge too. While we are at it matai and Brett could easily play with needles, tape, skateboard knee pads and possibly a neck brace.

Brent Tate played for years with no functioning joints and a neck brace.
