R360 Thread

With former England captain Mike Tindall as its figurehead R360's plan is for 12 franchises across the world - eight men's teams and four women's teams.

The hope is to get the world's best players competing alongside one another in a global tournament.

Rounds would be staged at a different venue across the world with organisers hoping it will begin next year.

Superleague all over again. Will last for a couple of years & go to $hit. Super Rugby is struggling & these guys think R360 is gonna survive? The number of players R360 will need to recruit is gonna be a big test! Anyway NRL will still survive!

Be flat taking a dozen NRL players, probably closer to 6 or 8 in total.

They dont like forwards in general. NAS will be blessed if the pick him up, usually minimum skill level is SBW or Burgess.

I believe it’s also a player option for 2027 so technically a free agent to negotiate this November. Will be tough to see him go but can’t blame anyone with the money on the table

Pretty sure a player leaving to play in 360 or any other sport doesn't have to wait to November to be a free agent.
Even if they did I doubt another competition would care about the NRL contract rules.

As for players, if the reported salaries being offered are true it be hard to say NO, I know if someone offered double or triple to what I was on now I would likely go.
If it goes belly up there will be no shortage of clubs willing to sign the player that left and the NRL would have legal issues if they tried to stop their return.

I've been posting for some years about the talk which mainly exists in the UK of merging league and union. It hardly gets a mention in Oz. But in the UK both league and Union are financially struggling. And participation wise are insignificant In Australia Union is financially struggling and player wise insignificant. League financially fine, but if you take the growth of girls playing the game out of the picture, the male participation of the game is in decline.

On a world stage league is a very isolated little pimple.

If Rugby 360 takes off and successfully puts the best in union and league on a Global stage and market.

The talk of merging the two to keep both alive might grow in Oz out of necessity.

I've not looked into this enough, the thing with this though, like the Saudi football league, money will get you players but how are you getting fans to buy in....why do they care.
