I hope the officials don't do to us what they did against Newcastle. Provided we aim up in defence this time and respect the footy we are a big show.

Adam Gee is the ref and Steve Chiddy is in the bunker.

Chiddy in the bunker is on par with having Perenara. The guy is as useful as tits on a bull.

Gee ... one week he's OK, the next he's diabolical. Hopefully tonight he's OK.

All anyone wants is a fair go from the refs.

Raiders forwards will repeat the pounding they gave us last time. No Tommy , no cohesion. Attack will be headless chook plays and defense will be disjointed with no communication. Raiders by 12.
Do you put much thought during the week into what negative speil will grace the game day thread or does it just roll off the tongue (finger tips) as you go on the day ?

Either way thankyou, keep up the good work.
Manly by plenty

Could be a close game tonight. We are going to have to reduce our errors to win this one. I am really not that inspired by the decision to play Funa at fullback. But surely he can't do any worse than when he was given the half back spot? I am really hoping he ends up on the wing with Garrick as fullback. But on the other hand, Suli and Funa as our wing/centre combination doesn't inspire me either. Danger game for us.

... and best wishes to Funa ... it's been a long time since he's had a run, somebody will have to tell him which way to run ... could be a career defining game for the young bloke ... Rip in son!
I hope Funa goes well @Woodsie but I am worried that he won't. Would love to be proven wrong.

I played some cricket with Steve Chiddy at Mosman. In fact, we won the comp that season. He was a medium-paced bowler who delivered off the 'wrong' foot, like Max Walker. From memory he was a fireman then had his own lawnmowing business on the North Shore. He became a RL ref but I remember him as being a linesman in First Grade rather than a ref. I can't see why he'd be biased against Manly having come from the north side of the bridge, although he may have been as Bears supporter...

Pretty well balanced looking side despite the injuries.

I think we will dispose of the Raiders quite comfortably.

Still plenty of points in this team.

A golden opportunity for Suli to prove his worth.

Funa and Sironen will also be keen to impress.

Garrick and Saab to both score a double. Manly by 22+

I prefer Garrick on the wing. That's where he is potent. Funa has handled full back OK in the past. Situation is different for him with the three play makers DCE, Foran and Schuster, who will offer the outside backs more room than when Funa last played in the side.
