If there were 2 players that id throw big money at, should they be free...Nathan Cleary and Isiah Yeo.
I have to agree, the dragons are much like us very inconsistent and around the same place on the ladder. I think we have better players though when at full strength where as they have more youngsters and "rebuilding" and don't seem to have the drama we have with our captain declare he's leaving etc. I think Flannigan has created more of a team in st george and that is the coaches role so all in all he's marginally better, but they're not far apart imo.I'm not in any way, shape or form defending Anthony Seibold however, can you please explain to me how "saints won that deal" based on Flanagan's current tenure and performance so-far at the Dragons?
I admit that he has won a premiership (as has Des Hasler who is being lambasted by many), however, what is the fascination with us "losing" Flanagan as if it a catastrophic loss (independent of Anthony Seibold)?
I'm interested to read what it is that he "brings or possess" because I just can't see it.
There are plenty of players, plenty, past and present who do not "rate" him as a coach (along with some officials and advisors), as much as some in the media or fans do.
I disagree, they would be mentally tired and the desire the win another prem would have evaporated. If there were 2 players that id throw big money at, should they be free...Nathan Cleary and Isiah Yeo.
It's true, they had lightning in a bottle - a group of incredibly talented, tight knit guys who had their hearts broken in a GF loss and all channelled that into busting their arses for each other for the next four years straight. This year seems to be the first year that the dilution of their squad has finally broken the recipe. Luai and JFH were crucial parts of that, and Crichton before them.I disagree, they would be mentally tired and the desire the win another prem would have evaporated.
Agree with this. We probably need a forward pack rebuild if anything. Starting with a top quality 9. And then a marquee prop or twoto be honest once the albatross contracts of DCE, Jake and Tom roll off we will be in a good position
we have too much talent currently in the team and coming through to do a full rebuild
Yep Flanagan has brought a nursing home down to wollongong.I'm not in any way, shape or form defending Anthony Seibold however, can you please explain to me how "saints won that deal" based on Flanagan's current tenure and performance so-far at the Dragons?

Critta, Kikau, Salmon and Burton: Hold my beerI disagree, they would be mentally tired and the desire the win another prem would have evaporated.
More plodders please ..... if we can corner the market on aging plodders surely that will put us in a.good position.Agree with this. We probably need a forward pack rebuild if anything. Starting with a top quality 9. And then a marquee prop or two
More plodders please you say ?More plodders please ..... if we can corner the market on aging plodders surely that will put us in a.good position.
They are sitting 6th atm. I’m fairly certain we’d gladly swap with them after we get beat today.Yep Flanagan has brought a nursing home down to wollongong.
Cook, the whinger Gutho & Holmes.
Throw in his son who has already been punted by 3 clubs.
The most overrated coach in the game atm and is helped by his mates at Fox.
Throw in his angry rants after every loss Flanno is Ricky Stuart 2.0.

I'd rather lose with an unknown group of local juniors and let them develop over a few years with a decent coach.Nothing short of a heavy clean out and rebuild will have much impact on our current situation, even then I doubt our club’s personnel has the ability and more so the means to do a decent job of it, which in the end would just mean more of the same old same old.
Even if we sign one or two players, won’t change much, all this chatter of we just need one good prop, a left edge , a decent rake, a 13, it’s actually a decent pack we need, our culture is in tatters, we’ve become like a homeless shelter for aging or displaced unwanted forwards, our depth is not worth speaking of, while our backline remains our best assets, even it has grey areas and isn’t as great as many on here believe, sure it can probably get the job done if they had a decent pack laying the foundation for our questionable halves.
Then there’s our coach, who just seems clueless, his personality is almost unbearable, no wonder our side fails to turn up from week to week, he just lacks the general man to man ability to get a side firing, no wonder no ones really willing and wanting to buy in and bleed for him, which is totally understandable if you listen to his most recent pre game, fancy a coach who decent care about the result or doesn’t lock on to the value of his sides home ground, imagine just dismissing Brookie as an advantage, no wonder we’ve lost our last 3 at home, possibly 4 later tonight, when was the last time we lost 4 in a row at home? I’m sorry, I love this club, but it’s so lost its way from its glory days, I’m not even sure it can even be fixed while ever Penn hangs on. Its getting close to the lowest I’ve felt about our prospects moving forward as a club, including our NE days, I don’t see a light at the end of the tunnel, I actually fear we may fall even lower or worse, spend the next 40 years being like Parramatta, possibly even go on a run like the Tiger recent run, it’s all very disheartening, we need a win just to cheer me up.
Hard to disagree with any of that.I'd rather lose with an unknown group of local juniors and let them develop over a few years with a decent coach.
In the 90s Bozo rushed through Elsegood, Danny Moore, Kosef, Gartner , Beaver, Hoppa, Chris Ryan, etc who were largely unknown. Des rushed through , Choc, Stewart Bros, Paul Stephenson, Matai, Jason King, Wolfman, etc. What happened to those days...where we co
We've only managed to push through the Turbo brothers, since they were an obvious shoe in to make the NRL due to their enormous talent. We dont seem to develop diamonds in the rough anymore. We buy too many players past their peak or too old and not much in youth.
Flanagan has brought in these players to win now. They are sitting 6th atm. I’m fairly certain we’d gladly swap with them after we get beat today.
Maybe he thinks they are in a premiership window too.Flanagan has brought in these players to win now.
Gutho and Cook won't get any better next year.
There mid table mediocrity which probably keeps Flanno in a job without ever threatening to win a comp
I’m not sure churlish and ungracious are deal breakers for an NRL head coach job.Well if we add our second bye to our current points, we'd be equal as they've had two byes.
Nonetheless, irrespective as to the nuances of the NRL draw and table, I'd be happy to entertain a change of coaching staff, however Shane Flanagan would be the last choice in my opinion.
He is a churlish man when one is dealing with him in relation to football matters, an ungracious man when the cards don't fall his way.
