Manly were robbed of the right for a fair contest. The game goes for 80 minutes. We all found that out throughout 2010.

Early on Cowboys got two very soft penalties. One against Ballin for a hold down. Another penalty for an inncocous tackle from Stewart that went off the ball.

2nd Cowboys try came via Hoppa getting smacked in the head and dropped the ball as a result. Compare that tackle to what Stewart was penalised for earlier.[/b]

3rd Cowboys try came after penalty for off side at kick off that was borderline. Manly drew Cowboys off side at repeated scrums and the refs called them off but refused to penalise.

Hoppa gets kneed in the head in act of scoring a try. The tackler came in knee first 3m away. Should have been an 8 point try and if there was no video ref would have been an 8 point try.

The Oldfield no try call was a disgrace. A dropped ball is not a knock forward. Simms knocked it on and then held Stewart off the ball forcing Lyon to try and pick it up. Should have been a try, a Cowboys knock on or a Manly penalty for holding Stewart off the ball.

Just atrocious. Manly are a fit team that play out the full 80 minutes as we saw against Souths and Cronulla. They don't deserve what was served up tonight.

Ryan how the **** can you give up on DCE after a handful of firstgrade games. He kicked a nice 40/20 tonite and tried his heart out. I agree that his goal kicking is not good enough but some of the **** you have said about him shows why you are not a coach (thank god)

Like 99% on forum, have to disagree with you Ryan.

Like the storm and Broncos, teams can play bad and steal wins at the death!! Manly were not given a fair go from the start!!

There were very bad calls in the 1st half which gave cowboys possession on numerous occassions when they were under the pump.

The officials were very grubby tonight!

The positive thing is we did play like **** for a lot of the game with drop balls etc but still managed to only lose by 2.
In 2009 and 2010 games like that would have gotten away from us and we would have had our arses handed to us.

Theres no guarantee we would have won the game had the video ref not taken a $50 note from ryan tandy and awarded the oldfield try. George Rose prob would have knocked on from the kick off and the Cow boys scored anyway. BUT im still shaking my head how the vid ref can make such blunders when hes looking at the same video we see. Unbelievable.

Disappointing yes but we got away with one against cronulla we could have easily lost and nearly beat souths, the way the games are ref'd you cant expect to go right down to the last minute and win them all.....
I think I remember last year us getting a call call and winning and thurston swearing at the linesman. must admit that knock on was a terrible call maybe without a replay the ref may have thought it was a knock on but there is no excuse with the video that was a discrace, alot do seem to go against Manly, ie last year the Reddy 3m forward pass and the Gasnier one.... they made the news wonder if this one will, sack them all,
Hope Des says nothing and the media says it for him, Des is fast becoming known as a bit of a winger, and sometimes I think it only makes things worse for the Eagles. Chins up its on again next week.

Disagree. We played a quality unit for once, and got out muscled, much like 2007. We were a decent team, until we played someone with a bit of grit.

There is no way we can blame the refs for this one. No way guys. Lets be real.

Not so much blaming them for us losing the game, but at the end of the day they dont do their job properly and if they cant do their job properly they should be sacked.

What really gets me with calls like that, which are so blatantly wrong, there are just no repercussions.

The NRL may say it was wrong and all that happens is some other team get the benefit of not having him for their game. Manly get nothing but a too bad so SSS out of that

Just finished watching the last of 5 games so far this wekend. I m now firmly convinced that the match officals are useless or are on the take.Apart from the poor refereeing in the seaeagles game,the other four games the standard of the match officals was decidedly questionable. A hooker penalised for striking for the ball in the scrum (max would be pleased), a try from a knock on (no referral),players dragged over the sideline when on the ground , passes called fwd when they went back, passes called good when blatently fwd. Either all referees are been trained poorly or are hopelss, which i doubt only leaves one answer they are on the take and the NRL should investigate them
