FYI the right side pic is from when Brooks kicked the field goal to tie it up in normal time. A penalty there would have (if kicked) got the Tigpies a win.

The NRL got the result they wanted for one of their favoured sides.

In a major blow to the Sharks hopes of breaking their 2018 duck, Moylan pulled up lame from Friday afernoon’s captain’s run prompting Sharks coach Shane Flanagan to urgently turn to 29-year-old Hodkinson.

The Sharks required special dispensation from the NRL to select Hodkinson, as he was originally not named inside their 21-man squad.

This is what I was referring to. Brisbane retained possession and then shortly afterwards were awarded the penalty and they successfully kicked for goal to tie the game up. No replay of the incident although it was crying out for one.

We had a terrible experience there after the double header last year, doubt I will return either!

Yes, but Ashley Klein deserves his moment in the sun. I'm sure most of the fans at the game were there to see another game winning performance from Ashley. Which reminds me, why don't they make ref bubblegum cards like they do for the players?

As I've said before some teams and players are more equal than others. It makes one wonder with the refs if they are under instruction or pressure from the NRL admin and their boss regarding 50/50 calls. Hate to think that but sometimes you wonder how the same teams and players get the positive calls while others get the raw end.

I have only caught the end of each game this weekend but what I have seen has been atrocious. If this is the “entertainment” product that the league thinks it needs to be then I’m really going to have to find a new winter sport.
