You know, I hate to admit this but so far this year Ben Hunt is showing that with a good halves partner (Widdop) and a more prominent role he is a talented halfback.

I think part of his problem at Brisbane is that Bennett focuses a lot of their attack through Milford and his running game which if I think about it is a lot like how they played with Langer who had a strong running game despite his size. At St Merge he is taking on a more prominent role in the play making and its showing.

I can't see them doing it, but if Qld were as smart as they like to think then Hunt at halfback and DCE at 5/8 could be a very potent combination.

Same. Hunt has been very good so far. Widdop must be loving having a smart half inside him.

Golden point is just stupid, they may as well stop trying to even pretend it’s league and play 10minutes of netball to settle it.

Bring back the draw!

I like Golden Point as a concept and I think it worked well for a while. But the standard of reffing these days is clearly too low so it should be scrapped.

TWO referees have been demoted this week after making the wrong decision in the Wests Tigers' controversial loss to Brisbane on Friday night.

NRL referees boss Bernie Sutton admitted over the weekend his whistle-blowers wrongly penalised the Wests Tigers in their contentious loss and the officials have paid the price.

Ashley Klein, who blew the penalty against Robbie Rochow for not being square at marker in golden point, has been demoted to an assistant referee this week as a result of his decision.

Matt Noyen, who was assistant referee, has been relegated to touch judge duties for Round 4.



Interesting to note that if that penalty had been given in say the first 10 mins of the match, they would not have been any consequences for the refs.

So the nrl hq who claim that refs should ref the same throughout the whole game don't really mean it.

Revert back to a draw. It's not fair that one team receives nothing for competing evenly for 80 minutes.
In finals matches have five minutes each way; not golden point. If no clear result at the end of the 10 minutes then play another 10 minutes.
This doesn't stop teams from going for field goals, but it gives the opposition a chance to respond.
