Ryan is skilled at doing these sort of comparisons so hopefully he is around.

You guys who say "how are the dogs under the cap", compare their squad (even with T Rex and others next year) against ours.

I guarantee ours looks more likely to be over.

On who is paid more / less (please note this is a guess at relevant rosters)

01. Stewart > Barber (long way)
02. Taufua < Perrett (long way)
03. Matai = Inu (Close)
04. Lyon > Morris (Long way)
05. Williams > Turner (close)
06. Foran > Reynolds (HUGE)
07. DCE > Hodkinson (long way)

Manly would have spent miles more in backline.

08. King = Kasiano
09. Ballin < Ennis (close)
10. Kite < Graham (HUGE)
11. Watmough > Eastwood (HUGE)
12. Buhrer < Williams (HUGE)
13. Stewart > Pritchard (close)

I'd say all that would pretty much wash out (maybe Dogs JUST more).

14. Foran < Halatau (long way)
15. Rose < Tolman (long way)
16. Galuvao < Payne (close)
17. Harrison < Stagg (long way)

Dogs would have paid a mile more for their bench, BUT they are bench players on a base of less remember.

Take that as you will guys. Hence to say Douggie (Clonatggo) is right. We can't cast out stones. Our backs wouldn't even be close $$$ wise. We are at a similar spend to them.

The Bulldogs routinely give players travel allowances to cover their petrol and e-tag bills. With the support of the players union the NRL has given them special dispensation for this, making these allowances exempt from the cap. This is because it would be inhumane to pay a person $500K and then make them live in Belmore.

07. DCE > Hodkinson (long way)

DCE was on $85k this year and this was supposedly upgraded only marginally- I also seem to recall that he only received a relatively small upgrade for next season as well. Hodkinson on the other hand was supposedly signed for close to $300k per season. This is the only player comparison that I think you have very wrong.

Disappointing if Harrison does leave. I remember not too long ago, hearing Gus Gould I think it was who said that Harrison will be a star in the not too distant future and is destined for rep duties.

Gifty took a while to get going and Manly persisted with him. I think Harrison is like him in that he to needs more game time and experience and in a couple of seasons he could be a great player.

Harrison could bite us eventually.
Seems to be getting better each game.

Heading back to the Dogs apparently

How the hell could he be goin to the dogs?? They've got enough backrowers to field 3 teams ffs!! And the salary cap?? Have they got one???

Can't wait to see how many players they have to let go. We've lost 4 players and are still under the pump, and they've bought Trex, Inu,Perrett Bros, upgraded Kasiano and now want Harrison. Just doesnt stack up for mine.

At Manly 1 + 1 + 1 = 3
At Canterbury 1 + 1 + 1 = 1.5

As a Maths teacher for 25 years, I can ratify the above calculations.

King = Kasiano??? After the Kasiano upgrade there has to be a fair difference, or Manly is paying overs.
The thing ppl overlook is the Nsw Cup squad the Dogs have is a LARGE chunk over most other sides & part of the salary cap.

Drury Low from Raiders to Dogs effective immediately

Surprised The Raiders are letting him go. He's played 2 NRL games and scored 3 tries, is a junior Kiwi International as well.

Looks like the Doggies are waiting to snap up anything that moves. Also, will be too old to play NYC next season.

With Barba, Perrett, Inu, Morris, Turner, Reynolds & Hodko running around, I wonder what their plans for him are? Off load Turner maybe?

Really? He's a good talent, I put him as very similar style/type of player as Whare. Yet another kid dieing to get out of the Raiders that will probably kick on at another club.

Is official from RLWs facebook page

There has to be a squeeze out with all this buying they are doing, and Jonathan Wright has impressed me a lot this season, could be a handy replacement for Whare if we were looking in that direction at all

Shane Shackleton has moved to the Panthers for the remainder of 2012
......thats a shame Bones,I was hoping we would get him,and whats with the Dogs, are they talking to players to convince them to get out of their contracts to go to them, man I can see a gigantic ,Timber, lookout below coming for the Bulldogs in the not too distant future, hope so anyway
