Galvin left the Tigers because there was an internal clique in the team which decided to push him out for whatever reason, in addition to the coach not supporting him because the clique in-players are the ones who call the shots for the whole team now.
He doesn't look to be ostracised with Canterbury, in fact I noticed Kikau specifically going out of his way on the field to back him many times. I think the coaching staff probably realised that Sexton and Mahoney had done their job as far as the rebuild goes, but they need better players in those positions to take it to another level - they're attempting to build a dynasty.
The question will be have they jumped the gun with Galvin and shoehorning him in when they've been a strong, competitive team who are genuine contenders in a closer competition this year? I think they'll be fine when Chricton gets back and they can stay injury free.
