How about this for Manly DNA, Head coach Tooves, Assistant Ballin, recruitment Cleal, defence Cement/Roberts, forwards Watmough, back Stewart. JUST DREAMING, wonder if Michael O'Connor or Jamie Lyon is up for the job.

Whichever way you look at it, the coach is the leader of the club and responsible for the results. Want to be the main man, guess what.. Burden of leadership mate.
So, you can disagree all you like but the fish rots from the head.
Yeah, but ... is the coach the head of this rotting dead fish a.k.a as the Manly Sea Eagles or are the owners and the CEO who appointed him the rotting head?

I feel your pain and part of me wants to lash out and blame someone e.g Seibold and see his head roll. However, the reality is sacking the coach is too simplistic a solution for a complex problem. With the other issues that we have I don't know who we would get that is better? Sure there have been some bad coaching calls this year but to be fair to Seibold there have been other issues that have derailed our season that aren't all his doing like injuries to key players have screwed us, the DCE circus, existing long term contract issues on the urbos.

Sacking a coach rarely (if ever) leads to improved results without there being whole of club change and we don't seem to have hit the rock bottom point yet where our owners recognise this. Hell, it wasn't that long ago that Penn & Mestrov were publicly stating we are in a premiership window.....

I hate watching Grimace after the now inevitable loss press conference too. he looks lost and clueless and Barrettesqe....

Not all Great Manly players make Great Manly coaches .
Toovey made a grand final and finals but he was also made to be the scape goat in the politically divided Manly club at the time .

I believe it would be a Massive Nostalgic Move to bring Tooves back
I believe his Iconic presence would earn respect and Inspire that Many way Integrity and resilience that he bled for , stood for and became successful with .
Every one deserves a second chance especially the ones that would die for the opportunity and prove that they have what it takes like Toovey

I agree that the fish rots from the head, but you are fundamentally wrong in thinking that Seibold is the head of the club. The Penn's are the leaders of this club, and ever since they took majority share, we have been abysmal.

That was at the end of 2014, it's no coincidence that was the last time we were successful.

Even without the Penn's, Mestrov holds more power than Seibold, and prior to that, the Fulton's... It's very ignorant to think that Seibold is the director of the club (he is not), or that coaches are the directors of any clubs today. This may have been the case with Des 1.0, but the game has changed, and even at the highly-succesful Storm, Frank Ponissi is more important than Bellamy, and arguably is a greater reason for their success.

I agree and about Tooves at the time I really didn't understand why he left, he was doing a great job I thought there need to be an investigation.

Some fair points in this but he also has made a number of decisions which people are entitled to question.

You could also argue the lack of respect shown by DCE to announce his career plans on national TV shows a massive lack of respect for Seibold. DCE is a tool but a good coach that would not happen to

1. He has recruited players like Lodge / Brown / Waddell which are looking older and slower by the day. Shame on Brown as he has a go but he's a shadow of the player from a few years back.
2. He has extended a lot of the backs at overs. We have too much cash tied up in the backline with players like Saab and Koula
3. He has not done anything to improve our hooking situation. Croker ran NOT once against the Titans.

For Seibs to get any chance of winning this crowd back, he needs to make some hard decisions on a back or two (trust in lower paid backs we have that can do the job) - get rid of Saab and either Koula or Gaz. Free up some cash for a 9 , a prop and a second rower.

He's in his 3rd year as coach so yes, he should be held accountable for results (look at the dogs coach) and he is especially accountable for attitude.
Hope we never lose Koula. Puts in every week and is one of the few we have who can be a match winner.

Seibold has lost the dressing room for sure, needs to sit them down and ask "what do you want for the rest of the season" get some straight answers and anyone that's not onboard goes to reggies. His career is cooked if he can't get these guys on the same page and actually playing like a team.

100%
For me, the fact that DCE showed him such disrespect by announcing he won’t be playing for Manly’s post 2025 on TV… wow

Manly Sea Eagles react to fan outrage by launching a series of internal crisis meetings

Manly management have moved to address growing discontent among supporters, launching a series of internal meetings with key stakeholders, coaches and the CEO as the club’s season enters freefall.
Dean Ritchie

Manly management is aware of fan outrage at the club’s dreadful performances and will launch a series of in-depth reviews during this weekend’s bye round.

This masthead has been told key internal meetings started last Saturday with a one-on-one between Manly coach Anthony Seibold and chief executive Tony Mestrov.

It is understood additional crisis meetings will also be held among key stakeholders this week as the club desperately attempts to salvage a fast-sliding season.

One source close to Manly said: “The club will be doing a lot of soul searching. They drastically need to turn things around.”

Unbelievably, Manly has tightened into $19 to record the most losses this season - in what is essentially a wooden spoon market – after being $81 just a fortnight ago, according to TAB.

Manly has never finished last in the club’s proud 78-year history.

A round 16 bye will allow Manly to regroup ahead of two season-defining home games against Wests Tigers and Souths.

Manly crisis meetings.

Irate Manly fans sent social media into meltdown after the club’s meek loss to Gold Coast on Friday night, just a week after a similarly poor defeat to Newcastle.

The source said: “The club wants to use the bye to have a good look at itself. Meetings will happen internally, some being one-on-one, and hopefully the club can pick a team that can beat the Tigers.

“They have been, and will be, constructive conversations about how the club can kickstart its season.

“The club knows the last two performances have been unacceptable. The bye will be used as a way to refresh and catch their breath. Some players are trying hard but it’s just not happening at the moment. Seibold is safe. The club has seen what the fans are saying and have written on social media.”

The Sea Eagles have drifted out to $51 in premiership betting after paying $17 just a month ago.

“This is shaping as one of the more dramatic shifts in the major markets,” said TAB’s Rohan Welsh.

“Even when ‘Turbo’ (Tom Trbojevic) has been out for an extended period of time, punters have kept faith in Manly being able to hang in there and make the finals.

“The market has definitely reacted to the club’s slide in form. When the season kicked-off Manly were the best backed side to make the final eight.

“But most tellingly they were the equal worst-backed side to finish with the ‘most losses’. Now they’ve gone from $81 longshots to finish with the wooden spoon to a $19 chance in just a fortnight.

“Only the Titans, Eels, Knights and Dragons are shorter, and Manly claiming a shock wooden spoon for the first time would be a loss for TAB at the moment.”

Manly didn’t have a single player unavailable through State of Origin commitments for the Titans match. The loss was described as lacklustre and spiritless.

Confusion over Daly Cherry-Evans’ future continues to cast uncertainty over the club. There were weekend suggestions that Cherry-Evans could retire after this season rather than join the Sydney Roosters.

Manly has been struck down by injuries to Haumole Olakau’atu (shoulder), Lehi Hopoate (concussion), Taniela Paseka (Achilles), Josh Aloiai (shoulder), Gordon Chan Kum Tong (head knock) and Jazz Tevaga (head knock).

Former Sea Eagles grand final winning forward Peter Peters told the Big Sports Breakfast Weekend radio show that Manly should target Roosters five-eighth Sandon Smith and Canterbury hooker Reed Mahoney.

Manly legend Max Krilich identified one key area his club must quickly remedy – defence.

“Injuries have taken a toll but they’re missing too many tackles,” Krilich said. “Manly have to be like the Bulldogs – committed in defence and, unfortunately we haven’t been strong enough defensively.

“There are still a number of weeks to go but they need to lift their game. The forwards have to stand up. While there’s a game to play, there is always hope.”

A headline on NRL360 said something about Manly having a crisis meeting, thats as much as I know

This is what I see concerning
The ones running the club only hold them selves accountable for the past two performances
They can not see past the last two games
They can not see what the Manly fans see or what the Manly fans feel for our past decade of Premiership Winning Decline
It is obvious from What the club only sees that Manly fans have Higher standards than the ones running our club

Get rid of one of our best & consistent players in Koula…….yeah ok Einstein!
