This is the best thing to happen to our squad. I'm pumped, and if they are manly, they will be too. This week is perfect timing, coming off a thumping with shocking effort, and then hit with media backlash and a massive fine with manly loading applied. This is our week. Frowned upon, and hated, the way it should be.

The true manly sides thrive off adversity, and boy haven't we been hit by a ****ton of it this week. Why am I so excited? It's because this is finally the week we discover whether this is a true manly side. We've had our trademark, ruthless, gritty performances here and there, although we've never faced the adversity faced at current. If this side come out with that backs against the wall manly mentality, then we can know for sure that this side has got what it takes.

The clubs adversity will make these players. It will bring the side together and build resilience. Saturday is the day we've been long awaiting.

Agree well said under the circumstances . But I'd prefer to think that we shouldn't require a salary cap investigation to fire us up for every game. We would go broke.

On the flip side we probably can't afford any bonding session camps. Back to basics like the Spartans. They dominated through training discipline and defending each other. There was no weak link..I'm waiting for the manly jokes to fly in...

Somehow I don't think the players give a $hit about this. They aren't being accused of anything, and they'll still get paid. The $500K fine doesn't come out of their pocket, and the relatively minor salary cap penalty for this year has no effect on the vast majority of the squad. There's no loss of competition points to get them all indignant and fired up. Barrett is in the clear, small slap on the wrist, so they won't be "doing it for Trent".

This is a player manager / club compliance issue, hardly the stuff to get your average rugby league player fired up.

I’m disappointed about the damage to Manly brand, I’m disappointed to the disrespect shown to a Manly immortal Bob Fulton. So now we are meant to believe the player managers, who represent players from ALL clubs, only negotiate dodgy deals with players from Parra and Manly. And then just by pure luck, the NRL, having access to Manly's books because of Heyson links, finds it. What are the chances?

True, and I don't reckon it does either, although the club's name has been torn to shreds this week, regardless you'd expect the players to feel like they're backs are against the wall, I just want to see an effort that suggests this, really excited

I like your sentiment but how big is your radar we need to fly under? It must be #nextweek because this week is #undersiegeweek followed by #undertheradarweek which can actually last about 4 weeks if we are doing well...it’s been a while because we always get interrupted by #caughtwithourpantsdownweek which I believe we just finished....

Apologies to @Mark from Brisbane

Looks like the adversity has gotten even better? Taufua out injured for 8 weeks and Lottoland to be banned from Australia (might not affect us in the end). Might as well let it all come in one week, better than the 2016 eels where it felt like never ending drama with issues popping up only a few months apart
