It's the same here, justice delayed is justice denied, and this delay certainly harms Manly.
If we were allowed to present fresh evidence at the appeal, the appeal should have been decided on what was before the appeal panel, namely Greenberg's original evidence plus whatever we had raised in defence.
If, as Kent has alluded to, Greenberg has been allowed to go off and conduct a further investigation, that seems a flawed process to me. We are appealing against the prosecution finalised last March, not some new prosecution that hasn't even been completed yet.

"It doesn't get more comprehensive than that" Greenberg said those exact words at the press conference when handing down our punishment. He is clutching at straws to save his job and negotiate something to still make him look like he came down hard. He has nothing and looks to have jumped the gun big time and no doubt in the appeal process the QC would have told him the investigation was flawed from a legal perspective.

It was a couple of weeks ago I think, when he was saying they had given priority to the Sharks investigation.

Seems there is one possible TPA we won't need to worry about in the future

Eagle’s antics drive away club backer

Manly have given Brookvale Mazda any number of reasons to end their association, but the final straw was the behaviour of a certain player in his sponsored car.

The Sea Eagles are in the process of returning their vehicles to the dealership after owner Joe Rinaldi opted to end the relationship. The club has tested the patience of all of its sponsors with a litany of dramas this season, including the Gladstone strip club affair, the Jackson Hastings fiasco, a sex tape scandal, Trent Barrett’s heated falling out with the club hierarchy and diabolical performances on the field that resulted in the Sea Eagles narrowly missing out on the wooden spoon, which would have been the first in the club’s 71-year history.

Brookvale Mazda has long sponsored sporting organisations on the northern beaches and has a history of sticking by them in tough times. But the firm felt it had to cut ties with Manly, fearing its brand was being tarnished by the behaviour of at least one of the stars behind the wheel.

The player was one of several chosen to be an ambassador and was accordingly provided with a vehicle. However, Brookvale Mazda was shocked when it began getting complaints. The dealership was made aware of a raft of incidents, including fines.

When challenged about the issues, it’s understood the player blamed one of his teammates, claiming he wasn’t the driver at the time. Rinaldi entered into the agreement hoping the relationship would garner his business positive press. However, this drama had the potential to provide the other type of publicity, prompting Brookvale Mazda to pull the pin.

Attempts to reach Manly for comment were unsuccessful.

Though...this is good timing!

Golden Eagles Brookvale Mazda Charity Golf Day 2018

A huge thank you to our Major sponsor Joe Rinaldi of Brookvale Mazda for once again sponsoring the day and providing a brand new Mazda as a hole in one prize!

Just listening to Peter Beattie on NRL 360 and he has mentioned that the appeal has been heard and they’re waiting for the judge to hand down a verdict.

Did they put that twit thru the ACAT test before they asked him that question?
Just to make sure that he knew what day of the week it was ,what code he was talking about ,what his name was, if he was an animal vegetable or mineral?

I would take with a grain of salt whatever that bald headed imbecile says ,he seems to have the concentration span of a goldfish

They should put him through an H.I.A

A retired Judge was hearing the Appeal

Former High Court Justice Ian Callinan QC is understood to be nearing a decision on whether Manly will be granted leave to challenge a $750,000 fine - $250,000 of which was suspended - and $660,000 salary cap penalty for third party breaches totalling $1.5 million over five years.
So after all this, at best, we can be 'granted leave to challenge'!!!!!!!!!
Fmd........
And who do we put the challenge too?
What two bit tribunal will they put together this time.
A court? Like a proper one??
It's where it should've been from day one!!!

Except this article was published on 21 April 2018 ...
Ah the wheels of justice barely turning, I suppose when the panel members are so old they have to be woken up for lunch it doesn't make for a speedy resolution.
