SOUTH SYDNEY'S horror end to the season has continued, as the Rabbitohs investigate allegations halfback Chris Sandow was involved in an assault in his home town of Cherbourg, north of Brisbane.
The incident comes less than a week after coach Jason Taylor and backrower David Fa'alogo were sacked for an incident during end-of-season drinks at the Forresters Hotel in inner-Sydney Surry Hills a fortnight ago.
Taylor has not ruled out legal action against the club, disputing claims the incident was the second breach of his $250,000 a season contract.
It is understood Rabbitohs chief executive Shane Richardson has spoken to Sandow and Queensland police about the incident last Saturday morning and is comfortable it is not serious.
A Queensland police spokesperson said last night, "A 20-year-old man has made a complaint that he was assaulted at Cherbourg early on Saturday morning.
"This matter is being investigated by Gympie police. There are several witnesses to the incident that are yet to be interviewed."
