It's amazing what can happen when clubs get the grant they deserve from the NRL this would if happened long ago if news ltd hadn't been leaching off the game.

With Dave Perry in the drivers seat I would expect this would be the first of many profitable seasons for our great club.

Great news, and with talk of relocation of the Sharks etc always on the radar (as well as other unprofitable clubs) it's great to hear.

Makes us a helluva lot harder to relocate to b*mph**k Idaho.

Here's a question. Maybe @vidmar could answer?

What happens to the operating profit? Does it go directly back in to the running of Mwse Ltd or do the 3 share holders all claim the share of the profit?

If it is they later scenario would that mean that with their portion of the operating profit the football club would buy more shares in Mwse ltd?

Cam, that's a personal question and the owners shouldn't have to discuss this with anyone. They have been putting a lot of their own money in to top up the losses so people should keep their noses out of financial gains/losses. As Mama used to say, It's none of your business!"

Cam, as a paying member of both the football club and of the Sea Eagles, you are entitled to ask that question.

Cheers bones your exactly correct. Some posters aren't worth the time or effort responding too.

A question then...

If it goes back into the running of the club what is the financial incentive for the owners?

Fantastic news for the club. Imagine the profit Manly would have made if they had have won the comp! Hopefully Manly's financial success will continue for many years to come.

Still nothing from Dean Rothie or Phil Ritchfield. Can't understand why?

I understand that Zorba has bought an interest in a milliner's shop. He's been eating a lot of hats lately and he decided to cut out the middleman.

Even more impressive given the amount of Monday games we play

Clubs that hold Monday games get a 'Monday Loading' paid by the NRL to compensate for the low crowd numbers. If your team was to draw a good crowd, it could actually give you a pretty decent profit.

NRL has a 2 game limit on Monday games per Club, so the other 5 we played only benefited the Home Team financialy.

Manly Daily quotes a 17 million cost to operate the MSE Franchise and about 100k profit on that.
Perry and the other Staff have set a new benchmark in this arena

Great to hear about our profit and shows how good the staff are at making the best of limited situations. If they gave us a ground that could hold more corporates and better seating we would do even better. The proposed China game and 2-3 games away seem to be of great financial benefit.

The compensation is far from what's required to make up for lost numbers for a home MNF game. It's a start, but for the club to wear those losses this year and still make a profit, is a brilliant achievement.

Hopefully this years near miss gets the masses motivated and back to Brookvale and we see an increase in our average attendances, one area that we seem to struggle to improve on from season to season.
