Seibold speaks ... and makes sense

He's a bullsh*t artist. All he's ever done publicly since his Broncos tenure is make excuses, spin narrative, and over-justify his insecure position. His words no longer carry any meaning to me whatsoever. He reminds me of an insufferable politician

I have not had a chance to listen but did he seriously talk about agendas against him - at Manly?! If that is so then F it he really does need to be sacked, that would put the media into a frenzy.

Interview was very odd to me. Sounds like he’s pretty pissed at all of the noise right now. Fair enough. But saying he’s not under pressure because actual pressure is things like Israel and Ukraine was weird. I don’t think it’s unfair to say his coaching career at Manly is under pressure at all. As @Budgie said, footy is an escape, and in this small world, it is pressure. I don’t think there was a need to compare the world of footy to that stuff. Then saying if he loses his job he can still feed his family. Just felt like it didn’t mean much to him. Didn’t really care either way.

Felt like he was trying to fight the journos a bit. I think he’s a bit rattled by the noise. Let it play out, response tomorrow will be very interesting.

Big loss = VERY big pressure

results driven business so no sympathy from me
2V’s got sacked for far less so he needs to either stand up for himself as a coach or leave

He rattles way too easily

I think Siebold has officially lost the plot. WTF does Ukraine have to do with his team performing like sh1t. Honestly, this joint is a basket case. Maybe the big bomb needs to land on Brookie. Im flabbergasted.

No ... budgie .. I'd rather get my foreskin caught in my zipper than upset you ...

I was referring mainly to his rationale behind the Turbo and Lehi moves ... and the decision not to remove DCE from the captaincy.

You're correct ... I didn't watch any footage ... just read the article I posted ... and whilst I agree it is not similar to the Ukraine or Israel ... the point that it is just football is relevant.

The players know that the coach hasn't gone hysterical and panicky ... is supporting the Captain as the best man to follow ... and given Turbo's recent form is trying something different rather than doing the same thing and hoping for a different result .. and again I find his reasoning valid ... Hindsight will be the judge I guess.
Sorry Woodsie, I am laughing at the first line of your comment lol and the truth is the talk that he had with the players and if he pointed out some things that they had to improve on and some of them weren't happy if true, whats the saying, the truth hurts sometimes, but I agree with your post

Yeah I think I'm done with this bloke.

I haven't been able to watch Manly since the DCE crap, but if he left and we took a new direction and played with a bit of heart maybe I'd be bothered to go out of my way again.

Maybe I'm a fairweather fan but Siebold isn't Manly. I'm not going to trash the bloke but I just can't watch the team anymore and it's becoming more and more obvious why.

I reckon it’s siebold subconsciously convincing himself that life goes on if he loses his job and that there are worse things that can happen in life .

Gutless coaching. Showing steel and making hard calls is not hysteria but is part of the job description and he is not demonstrating the necessary attributes. No wonder our side has a soft under belly. The results tell the tale of the tape.

It was tied to his larger point that - GASP! - we're all going to die, and any search for meaning and validation in life (and by extension rugby league) necessitates working backwards from that. [And if you think I'm making Siebold's Morbid Musings on Mortality up, I'm not. You can't make this sh@t up.]

I am not a Seibold fan, however that pressr was the most convincing and strongest he has been all season.

My question, who has been leaking all the internal stuff to the media?

Allegedly Mestrov again, like DCE hinted at early in the season?

If siebold had concerns about the performance of the players as individuals why would you not have raised it earlier in the season when he thought things started to go off the rails ….im sure Bellamy and bennett don’t hold back after each match.
Every player in most other teams would know exactly where they stand after every match and cop an honest assessment from their coach as to their most recent performance. . So there was a moment of truth at manly as to the performance of the players only now…???! surely the players should have been made aware about their shortcomings long before now otherwise how do you improve the players and the team each week.i don’t get this 7 minute honesty assessment session. Every session should be an honest assessment ffs.
