shaun berrigan

mutley

Reserve Grader
just read in another post that shaun berrigan is coming back to australia, dont know whether he has signed with the broncos but if manly has any money left could be a very valuable signing, given he can play in the halves, centres, hooker, etc, all positions where there is a question mark if with injuries/depth/suspension(MATAI)

what do ya reckon?

Would love him in the halves (he's a tough little **** but don't think we would be able to afford him).
I agree with BE we will need props so James Graham has to be our number 1 priorty for 2012

We should have kept Farrar if we have enough cash for berrigan.
I agree swoop.

He'd be a great pick-up, he'd provide good utility value, and would be an excellent back-up half and centre which we do need (remember that Matai and Lyon are both rather injury prone). Won't happen, but I wish it could.

I love this site.  Any player who becomes available is seen as a good pickup, no matter what basically.  Also, any player who leaves manly becomes crap the instant they sign elsewhere.

You forgot to mention Gronk that all our juniors are superstars just waiting for an opportunity in the NRL, where they will kill it as soon as Des wakes up to himself and picks them.

Berrigan was good in his day, but that day was about 4 years ago. As others have said, keeping Farrer was the much better option.

Farrer really wasn't a top liner, nice bloke I guess, but bit of a plodder and Berrigan is to old.  Move on and look to the juniors.

I really liked Farrer, not because he was first pick in any given position but because he could cover almost anywhere, and do it with heart and with at least a modicum of ability and talent.

He may not have been a superstar but he was incredible value for the club and I would have him back in a heartbeat.

Great call rusty. He is a solid defender and is handy with the ball.I would like to see him aproach the line with our centre pair running the angle then straightening up.We were missing that and have certainly lost the direction and strike power out wide as a result.Remember the running move with the outside back on the angle back in side with the option of giving the ball outside or to the running pair of JL or snake on the inside?Worked a treat and put even the better defensive side in two minds.

Sorry about the "wall of text"...bwaaahahaha

We have better options out wide.  He was a plodder, to slow no penetration.  If he was any good we would have kept him.

Wow ! you must have been watching Andrew Farrar and not Ben. At times this season he was the ONLY one creating opportunity and line breaks. Next you'll be telling me you thought Robbo should have played fullback in Snake's absence ?

BTW I thought we tried to keep him but couldn't fit him under the cap once we signed Matai. Wasn't he talking about returning in 2012 ?
