Siro !!!

Typical 😡

Well, I'll just pull some excerpts from it....where there's a will, there's a way! :giggle:

"12 months ago I was in reserve grade, just withering away, low on confidence.....We played Mounties one day....I don't even know where it was...it was in a cow paddock and I was getting sprayed. I was low on confidence and wasn't enjoying myself......I probably needed a kick up the backside. It was something I'm sort of glad happened.....my professionalism wasn't where it needed to be. It was rock bottom but definitely the wake-up call I needed.
When I think now about switching off in games, I think about what I was doing 12 months ago.....The 12 months I have had, I am proud of myself for making a change, sacrificing and working harder. It shows if you work hard, you can turn it around. I had a good hard look at myself and changed a few things I was doing....I have put myself in this position where I'm in a great team at a great club in a good culture........."

(I hope he didn't get 'sprayed' by cows' business in the paddock!) :tmi: :giggle:

And so you should be proud of yourself Siro with the way you've turned your career around - we're proud of you too and glad you did!

I'll be perfectly honest.....after the first 3-4 games I wasn't all that impressed with either of our back rowers. But I'm happy to say that Siro especially has made me change my tune.

Its no coincidence that in the time he was out, Walker wasn't near his best out on the right and really only played well in patches. Yet on Saturday night he seemed to have his mojo back.

I said it before but personally I think our Siro is even better than his old man was and father Sironen didn't have a bad career himself did he......

Typical Siro like performance last night. 4 runs, 22 mtrs. I like this kid, but I'm surprised when people sing his praises. Aside from the fleeting brilliance, he can't even crack 100 mtrs most weeks. Winterstein is bench material, but I'd start young Siro in NSW cup next year. He can soul search there, we need a couple of backrowers at the very least! Zero punch from those positions.

Tend to agree went missing.

He did his hammy again. He has a history of hammy injuries at the Tiges. He is only young so hopefully some injury management and strengthening of key areas and he will be back next year

Ha. We was out for most of the game with a hamstring tear. I reckon we missed him out there last night
He was out most of the game but during the time he was on do you think he was dominant ?. Do we have back rowers that can consistently crack over the 100 metre mark ?

I agree when out there he looked a little heavy in the legs - probably from being out for 10 weeks. but he is a very good defender, plugs the holes and we look much better defensively with him in the team. also is a big meter eater, but a very dangerous runner, attracts defenders, hits a hole and can break a tackle. also great off loader. Players like AFB are the meat eaters.

I think Frank has potential, but just needs a little footwork before the line like talmalomo and Marty.

For what its worth .....
NRL .COM Player Stats
Runs per game Frank 8 Sirro 8
Metres gained per game Frank 78m Sirro 71m
Line breaks Frank per game 0.12 Sirro 0.31
Off loads Frank per game 0.36 Sirro 1.6
Tackles made per game Frank 23 Sirro 25
Stats suggest They both need to improve on their game on a consistent basis for us to improve in 2018 .

Trent has said during the season that Siro was a work in progress meaning they are getting the 5/8th-ness out of him and improving his second row-ness.

If he keeps on that upward improving scale than I believe he'll be very good before too long.

🙂
