Sirro - What to do ??

Fact ... you need to add in the 427 reggies games in played over the same period .... if you do you get him up to at least 15/16 games a season ... still not good but better than your 12 ...
C'mon mate, he is clearly injury prone.

I'm not saying you personally, but a lot of fans discount injuries as bad luck and expect that the tide will turn eventually but it rarely does.

Compare Cameron Smith with say Josh Dugan. Unless Dugan has gone around smashing mirrors in a house full of black cats (it's plausible), you have to say his body breaks down a lot more than Cameron Smith's does...given the age gap between the two, it makes the point even more valid.

Some players are prone to injury, not through bad luck, but through the mechanics of their body. Lachlan Croker is a classic example. Jack Gosiewski is another. Taufua is breaking down a lot. Rarely does it have anything to do with luck.

Damien Cook has had his ankles caught under 120kg props a couple of times this year and looked gone, before getting up and playing on. He must have rubber ligaments. Sirro runs and falls in a heap without a hand laid on him.

Young. Been unlucky. Stick with him. Develop him. Massive fan.

11. Joel Thompson
12. Curtis Sironen
13. Jake Trbojevic

Is possibly top 3 in the NRL talent, attitude and quality wise.
Politely disagree.

Thompson is wholehearted but showing signs of getting old; his lateral movements are very slow. Sironen is injury prone and lacks explosiveness. He can ball play a bit but he doesn't strike fear into the opposition the way Frizzell does. Jake T is of course is excellent but there other two really bring us back to the pack.

Cant we just offer a deal where it will be between 85K (Minimum) and 400K (maximum) depending on how many games he actually plays. If he plays half the games, he earns 200K
I suppose you could but that would mean reneging on the current extension sitting on the nrls desk and getting Curtis to agree with it. Would also make calculations of salary cap tough, due to the variable outcomes in which that agreement would bring

Not at all.
If you offer him the deal I am talking about, and he does his knee half way through the season, you only pay 200k and because you factored 400k in your budget, you then have 200k to bring another player on the roster and delist the injured into development and rehab.
I miss the good old days when you could call on anyone in reserve grade or the under twenty threes to play first grade without all the BS

If he really wants to be an eagle keep him.

He is past the young gun stage and could become a warrior for us if he desires to be a life eagle

Our forwards can be moulded to a formidable pack if we can get the right a coach to prosper and right mentality

I think his pedigree will serve him well with Jake ,a committed Kapow, API , AFB and some very strong committed team players to bind us

2 years ago we heard that John Sutton was gone . I hate souffs but that MAN has been a silent sleeper for the vermin after being
touted as injury prone

We have backed sirro and if he returns that commitment we will see him Become a talked about champion for us

Only Sirro and the club can answer this

One year ,with room to upgrade.Based on form that's all he deserves. He is hardly a warrior that bleeds maroon and white.Shown glimpses but mostly Average at best ,when ON field.

With Lane going he is a moral to get that right edge role, unless by some miracle we sign someone else. You're not going to pick Jetski or Frankenstein over him,

I wouldn't start either of them in front of Siro. In fact, neither would be in my top 17.

Frank is OK when he has the ball in open space, but he runs more decoys than actual hit ups, while his defence is poor. Jetski gets monstered when he has the ball and his defence for a back rower, like Frank's is poor.

Is really hard to feel comfortable and confident having an injury prone player on serious coin when the club's back row stocks are not that great . Think that it would have been preferable to have offered the resilient [ injury wise ] Lane closer to the 300 k range or so [ which should have been near parity with the Eels offer ] and Siro much less then his purported 400 k or so . Especially with Frank and Jet Ski as fringe first graders at best still here . If he is retained, of course hope that he can just have a better run with injuries and then be a consistent performer , just also again , do not seem to have the back row depth and quality right now to cover any extended time on the sidelines by Siro .

Never said he wasn't ......

Tom Trbo is also injury prone!!! His ankles are rooted so let’s get rid of him also! Give the guy a break & let him show he is worth keeping. Matai & B Stewart we’re very injury prone yet no one carried on & wanted to get rid of them!!!

Where were you when Matai & Snake we’re constantly injured & injury prone?? No one wanted those two gone!!

we are a better team when he is on the field, adjust his contract to 3/4 of his actual value due to injury

Joel Thompson posted on social media that was having surgery:

Last week I was honoured to receive to receive the Players Player and Clubman of the Year.
Obviously it hasn't been the year I was hoping for but still very proud to pull on that maroon/white jersey and go to battle beside some champions during the year.
The boys who are leaving or retiring wish you lads nothing but the best for the future.
Now time for surgery tuesday and get this dogs body ready for a big 2019.

Calm down buddy, deep breaths. I never suggested getting rid of him and I don't need to give him a break because I haven't hassled him. I'm just giving my opinion that he is injury prone. He is a decent footballer.

Again, I don't want to release Sirro, I just think it is hard to argue that he isn't injury prone. Relax Paul, I know he is your son but people are going to have opinions, try not to take them personally.
