What the hell is going on with Socceroos 6-0 to Brazil & 6-0 again over night to France. Is that the end of Holger Osieck even though he got us to the Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup?

Interesting to see what changes are made for the match against Canada in the early morning of Wednesday EST.

Holger Osieck has just been sacked & the assistsnt coach Aurelio Vidmar will take over for Tuesday nights match in London against Canada.

Can't help but think the world cup has been missing something for ages.

Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou has four FIFA friendly international matches schedualed, with approximately five months until the Australia 2015 AFC Asian Cup tournament begins.

Road to the Australia 2015 AFC Asian Cup tournament:
4 Sep 2014: Belgium v Australia (Liege)
8 Sep 2014: Australia v Saudi Arabia (London)
10 Oct 2014: UAE v Australia (Abu Dhabi)
14 Oct 2014: Qatar v Australia (Doha)
Possible match in Australia in mid November before opening match against Kuwait in Melbourne on 9 Jan 2015.

I rarely watch football but enjoy it when I do, happened to tune in at 93 minutes last night.. epic match with dramatic finish.

Massive crowd, rugby league has serious competition from this code.

Don't know about serious, this is their eqivelent of the SOO or final of the world cup, NRL packs out the same stadium

I love football but there is one issue that will always hold it back in Australia.

Essentially it is a matter of quality. Most football fans will watch games in Aus however, due to the player drain, the quality is not as high as what you can watch overseas (compared to the NRL, AFL etc which are the top quality)

I have been to my fair share of Sydney FC games and at the end the quality is just not good enough to attract the casual fan. That does not mean there will not be series growth, however as long as our most talented players continue to play overseas, the local league will not threaten the "traditional" codes
