Something I have wanted to get off my chest.

This site is a platform for people to engage, discuss, relate and form relationships with people who live in other parts of the world. I am eternally grateful to @Dan and the other hardworking people who keep it up and running.

It is social media at its best. Having looked at other supporter forums and unfortunately having a need, because of where I live to be connected to Facebook, I am always amazed at how intelligent and generally well mannered (particularly in comparison to the above mentioned other forums and Facebook) the discussion on here is.

Having said that the place of late has followed the trend of Facebook and social media and taken on a whole 'us vs them' feel.

I know two people have been given a stint on the sidelines, basically for conforming to that view. The world shouldn't be seen as 'left vs right', 'true patriots vs spineless snowflakes'.

We all have a right to agree and disagree and we all have a right to be wrong, happily proven wrong, question the direction of the club, the ability of players and their fit in certain positions. We are allowed to go on a rant after a disappointing game or performance from an individual player. We are allowed to have favourite players and be blinded by their less favourable attributes.

Please don't make this place a place for cliques or being so determined to win an argument that you play the man and not the ball.

Keep this place special.

Look I dont attack other supporters of other teams just because I'm a Manly supporter. In fact I feel sorry for those supporters who have to support other teams. How do they live with themselves knowing they will never support the best side. Its a disturbing thought. Think happy thoughts for those other supporters because without their teams, who would we have to dominate?

I'm not a fan of censoring or banning people, so I am not suggesting that should happen, but those posters who keep pushing the same barrrows in every second post really do have a negative impact on the site.

The mods are doing a great job, but things can only improve when these posters grow up a bit and start having a bit more respect for other people's views.

No member of a sentient species should have to put up with that.

Where I draw a line, and begin firing barbs, is when people heap the amount of personal and professional abuse on a good and courageous young man like WillyArmy. The level of vitriol and ridicule that was thrown his way will ever be a stain and disgrace on the history of "Silvertails". Not many people can be proud of that chapter ... neither those that did it ... or those that remained silent, and allowed a Manly player to be so needlessly abused.

Other than that ... I'm a sweetheart.

Williame was solid for us every game he played. He was a symptom of the end of an era. A bit like Blake Leary who was a good player but not suited to our pack at the time. Would have persisted with JSL as well could easily see him doing a more skilled winterstein role. And obviously Ferris. How good would we be going with him as a second rower.

But he's injured for the knights now and not us so if I posted that some on the 'support the club and never blaspheme it club' would go to town (or more specifically scour old threads etc.).

Don't get me wrong, there are some players that need to be told to give themselves an uppercut. But poor WillyArmy was just a good young man expected to do things beyond his then capabilities when we were struggling to get a team on the park ... he didn't do "anything" to deserve the relentless abuse.

Good, I've been spending less time on here recently ( quite unusual for me) as I was really getting sick of some of the **** that had invaded the forum.

Attacking one another ( as @mickqld has said ) isn't kosher , my view may be different to yours, fine, that's what forums are for.

Attacking the individual is a real low in my opinion.

You see it on Facebook, but often it's an opposition fan (or other state) doing that.

I just ignore the idiots. This place should be a fun place to be at the moment with how the team is travelling. Im all for giving the troublemakers a stint on the sideline.
