I hope we try sign Oliva Smith been a beast so far for QLD. At the doggies but with Thompson & Latu going next year in the forwards he would be down the pecking order quite a bit

Most of these blokes are either contracted or are tied to clubs.

But if you dont try you wont succeed.

Dogs are pretty stacked in the middle as it is & are bringing in a NZ rep prop next year - they can’t keep ‘em all. Of course it’s a long shot to land but it can’t hurt to try. I’d rather watch a 19-20 year old with potential off the bench next season then Brown or Sipley again

Yep. I mentioned this in the Juniors Discussion thread on June 11. I can't ever remember us not having @ least a few representatives. Future is bleak.
I was going to say our next best bet would to be looking at signing some of these new young players but remembered we only like signing 30+ year old dads and the more unfit and less mobile, the more interested we are.

I like the no 11 for NSW ,,ofcourse he is signed with the Rorters along with another 50 mates

You mean the 17 year old kid some other club has brought through their ranks only for the Chooks to buy them, then debut them in First Grade a few months later at 18 all the while claiming that its another who came through "their" juniors.....

There are only three Australian NRL clubs without a representative in the Under 19s match:
Souffs, 'Boys and us. Reinforces how insignificent the once great Manly club is now.
Quite a shock that Souffs are also unrepresented; they are normally well stocked with young talent.
What out Melbourne? It has Five players in the two teams. Wow. That's how a professional outfit should be run.

Junior Origin representation doesn't hurt, but it isn't a guarantee of a long-term NRL career either.

Nor does it guarantee that the player (or their manager on behalf of them) won't just depart to whichever club will offer them more money as soon as they show the slightest amount of promise as an NRL player... as we found out fairly recently.

Absolutely, it's a mercenary game these days
(and fair enough)
