If Croker gets picked again as starting 9 over Simpkins then any doubts about Siebold being a fool will be gone.
And he is worse as a 14 as offers zero in terms of impact.
Don’t think Simpkins is the absolute answer either but at least he is a hooker and he shows improvement.
Tuesday will tell us a lot about the coach ( if Croker is fit )
Croker should never ever see first grade again. Period.
Dumbfounding he’s continually been picked over the years.

Agree that we are probably not an attractive option for young talent at the moment, but in fairness, neither are the Eels. Really, 9.75 times out of 10, it all comes down to money. If we'd offered more money than the Eels offered, he would have come here.
Anybody know how much he's getting ?

For argument sake, whether you believe the figure to be true,$685K could be a bargain in yr 2-3 of his 4.5 yr contract.Eels would back themselves to get him up to that level

I'd argue Simpkins on less over the same time frame would give us similar overall value....whilst also givingus ability to further strengthen other areas.

What does that mean?

They're trying to determine the balance of contract monies that are owed to TDS as not all remuneration packages are structured in the same manner at each Club.

You need to be quite careful to ensure you, as a Club, are accounting for all payments from 1 November (previous year) to-date so that you're not paying for a period that may have already been paid for (i.e. wages payments maybe on a set payment cycle), however, incentives, bonuses et cetera which are in written into a players contract potentially due at the end of the playing year, will now need to be paid if player X is now moving to another Club.

A little fine tuning of the "dollars and cents".

If that's accurate, I'm glad we didn't get successful in a bidding war.
Than settle in for a period of never signing any player we and other clubs want. We are in a position like tigers, eels, dragons and others who have to over pay.

The only way to rectify that is sign a coach who can attract talent but we shouldn't kid ourselves if we want a player we are paying overs or we are not getting them.

Positive - Parramatta already have a quality young hooker in Ryley Smith. One of these two will be getting shopped around by next 30 June.
Negative - Yeah, we can't recruit anyone who has another option.

Didn't we just pick up a young prop from the Knights who seemingly wanted to test himself on the open market?

H e may have incentive clauses in the contract if he makes NSW/Australian team
