Volkman would be the better option for potential but I wouldn’t mind having Boyd, it would help the younger guys in reserve grade develop having a half with NRL experience leading them.

I don't mind this, he won't be playing much if any first grade, but we have NSW cup running out in Manly colours next year and I'm keen to see some proper reserve grade style players in the team and some improvement. Maybe this will help?

There's plenty of next big things, doesn't mean they'll all be stars or NRL premiership-winning quality once they hit first grade.
Case in point - Tanah Boyd: Australian Schoolboys, Qld U'16s, Qld U'18s, and Qld U'20s - and posters here saying he'll be good for our reserve grade
