Don 't think it really matters in terms of Humphreys situation , whatever range of reasons or main reason, he or his management decided to move on towards the latter stages of last season .
D C E was still contracted for season 25 and another year or expectation of being mainly at Blacktown or Manly reserve grade either as a 7 or 12 , plus no doubt a bit more money on offer
Plus the addition of Joey Walsh by that time also .
Manly management again , had no intention of releasing D C E so Humphreys just opted for a better opportunity and should be really in the nothing to see here category

That’s a pretty valid point. He still has to wait out 25’ and may not have wanted to. Especially with the looming presence of younger and more highly touted prospects.

DCE's body is going to break down on him some time in the next couple of years, or he'll go into self-preservation mode and start becoming even more of a liability in defense.

The idea that the club would have been prudent in throwing the cheque book at him is ludicrous.
