The Daly Cherrygraph

So it’s looking more & more like the club advised him they wouldn’t be making him an offer & he’s spat the dummy & appeared on channel 9 sans Manly gear (despite still being employed by Manly) in an act of sour grapes to try to make the club look bad.

Not very professional behaviour from a bloke who’s presented a very professional front until this point in time.

Makes me wonder if it’s all been an act (as many people have said as the reason they never warmed to him) & certainly makes me wonder exactly what really went down in Gladstone between he & Hastings.
Something has gone down at the club. Not sure it was the Hastings issue.

It also must make us wonder what
Came out like a jealous ex almost instantly after the Fogarty signing was revealed and said he was keen to play Origin and on again next year, like we all didn’t already know that.
What has Fogarty got that DCE would be jealous of ?
Is It the Money ?
Is it the Fame ?
Or maybe it is just in your head ?

Turbo and jake would not turn down a SOO jersey
Why should DCE who is also the captain of his state

The History of Hastings Perspective
Hasting has had issues at the Dragons and was moved on
Issues at the Roosters moved on
Issues at Manly and moved on
Issues at the Tigers Moved on
Issues at the Knights and on the outer
Go figure ?

I doubt it was the Hastings thing. Hastings has a track record of being regarded as a knob at every club he has gone to, whatever happened between DCE and Hastings at Gladstone, my money is on Hastings being the problem.

I cannot commend the Roosters highly enough for their smart administration and decisiveness in slipping under our guard and nabbing DCE. Thank you Robbo. Thank you Uncle Nick. Without you we'd most likely be stuck with DCE for another year of overpaid mediocrity.

Tony Mestrov, well played with your fumbling attempt at a last minute offer. There was no way he was going to be enticed to stay after you lured his ego into thinking we didn't care earlier. Perfect bluff.

Less than 20 weeks now isn't it ? Can. Not. Wait.
Thank you Tony Mestrov for going where no CEO has gone before and making an unprofessional farce out of our club by going live on TV and making knee jerk contact offers that have failed to achieve anything but escalate to a Mestrov Monti Python Media Circus

I can understand the Roosters going all out for DCE who is an Elite half that has proven him self at the Top Level of the game under Top level coaches.

DCE SOO Dominance

I'm sorry but I just don't see the problem here.

DCE has given his all for this club. He's near the end of his career. He wants a decent payout because once he's retired, the golden goose has flown. He's not going to get that kind of money again.

This is business and he has his future to think about. OK he maybe could have presented his decision a little more compassionately so we could all have that feel good feeling. But fact was he was leaving. He had fulfilled his contract. Would have made no difference in the end if he had said it all with love and roses.. And he was good enough to give Manly a year's warning so they could get a decent replacement. He also knows young Walsh could be ready in a year.

Would you have preferred he told Manly in September as many do.. Anyone who thinks loyalty should have played a part are being somewhat naive. Again I remind you in a less affluent time our greatest player of all, Bob Fulton, left Manly for Easts in his final two seasons for big money. No different. All you seem to be complaining about is whether he hurt our feelings or not. Come on. Its a business. Personally I would like to remember the magic that he brought to Manly and wish him well and hope in his final year he will present something special for us.

I have no problem with the timing of his announcement. It's the manner and the duplicity that I find repellant. But I also don't really care that much.

There’s no problem at all, it’s just the manner of his announcement and the bull**** since that has soured a few ( including me ).

Spot on feathered friend
Your post is not a Typical Mestrov Knee jerk reaction
But a well thought rational post

Last but not Least
DCE has given the Legendary Manly club higher Status more Success and more More Service
Then The Mere Mestrov

So what Mark? Are you going to dismiss all the effort he has shown in holding this team together just because he hurt our feelings. Really? What difference does it really make. He's made a decision full stop. He's given Manly a year to find a replacement full stop. He wants a decent pay out full stop. No matter if he had been all gushy and warm and cuddly in how he told us, does it make the slightest difference to the outcome. We've moved on before. We move on again. We don't even know why he said it the way he did. I've no doubt SC have been in his ear for a while now. It happens. Maybe he had a falling out. Who knows. And in the end it doesn't matter. Decision made. Best wishes. Next.

The problem was the bloke who was accountable for the professional conduct and diplomatic and harmonious contract negotiations Tony Mestrov .

But reading your posts
Mestrov and Seibold are not accountable for anything at the club

After 15 years , and being the Captain , warm &
gushy would have been better.

I’m not critical of your view , it’s your view , but it’s not mine.

We’ll have to agree to disagree

@BOZO

I’ll say this once and once only.

You are now making this personal.

I’ve only ever blocked one person on this forum , you are 5 minutes away from being the next.

Give it up, one chance and one chance only.

Why don’t you just block the guy instead of threatening to do so? Comes across like a self important power play. I have only clicked on a couple of your comments since I blocked you several weeks ago, mainly because most of your posts are in a similar vein. I would respectfully suggest that your opinions carry no more weight than anyone else’s on here.

I don’t think my comments carry any more weight than anyone’s, it’s just my opinions.

Just don’t attack me and make it personal.

As to a power play , I don’t play those childish games that’s for you young bucks

I'm not attacking you Mark. You present as one of the most logical and balanced members on this site and I like your comments. In this matter I'm just surprised at how emotive your responses are. Quite atypical to your usual responses. Not criticising your right to feel angry about DCE's actions. Being angry is a very normal feeling. Its just that it often doesn't really tell you what the root of that emotion is. I feel no anger at all over his actions. Disappointed. Sad. But not angry because I don't see what I need to be angry about. But I'm not you and obviously the root of your anger comes from something different to how Im seeing all this. Not saying I'm right at all. I just cant see the source.

No and I’m not attacking you either , we just have different views on the matter and that’s fine.

The Manly club , and fans , have been very good to him for 15 years.

Zero issues with him leaving for the golden handshake , if he can stitch up a 10 million dollar deal he’s mad not to take it.

But as captain , go out in style , go out with credibility , go with good graces.

That hasn’t happened , full stop.

I still think you best work comes from when you are using farm yard animals with Mestrov milking.
