The Daly Cherrygraph

Full disclosure I am a west ham fan. There is a long serving player who is leaving the club, which in the tribal football world could mean anything. It is a bit long but worth a watch…and a better way to announce you are leaving

There are ways to do it, and ways not to do it.

This is an example of my first statement

I'm torn here. When was the last time we had a dominant pack? We won in 2011 with a top pack and the pack was strong in 2013 too. Our next window potentially was 2021 but that was on the back of Turbo, not a good pack.

I want to remember Daly for the golden point wins over the years and the times he did dominate, but the harsh reality is, when did that happen in games that really mattered. Guys like JT, Johns and Cronk won the big games, albeit on the back of superior forward packs. Daly hasn't had that.

BUT, the goods are all countered but the reality TV show that is, Dalys World.
Nearly all of JT time at cows were bad seasons as he didn't have the squad to win.
They built a good roster and he got them home, finally.

Actually 2019 we had a very dominant pack - AFB, prime Taupau and Siro, Joel Thompson, and Jake at his very best. Add Api and Fainu rotation.

Unfortunately it was the one and only year since 2014

I wouldnt want DCE to go this year on the off chance Roosters pull it together and won the comp.....stuff that.

We are seeing the beginning of DCEs decline IMO on the next two years he will not be value on 1mil IMO

I think we’re all hoping that will be the case. Hate everything about the Roosters.

We will remember them
Lest We forget

Mother time catches up to everyone eventually very few players can play at the top level past 34 years of age let alone 36. I glad we haven’t sunk another 2 million into him. Time to forge ahead.
Cameron Smith was one of the few that did it , just as good in his last year as ever.

The Dollar Chaser will find it harder & harder to stay with the kids so I agree I’m pleased the club didn’t sign him longer.

To be honest I just don’t know why he didn’t , announce he was retiring at the end of the year , pick up a cushy job in the media , and then work his way back into coaching at some point.

His reputation would be intact , and let’s face it he’ll still be able to earn a motza from the game in the next decade without having to **** in his nest.
