The Daly Cherrygraph

Just think about this.....

Last night in Newcastle, DCE, the Manly and Qld captain, premiership winning international halfback.....got out-played by Jack Cogger :speechless:
Nothing special. He's been outplayed by several reserve grade / below average halves so far this year. Most over rated, over paid player in the competition has been for a decade.

Just a hypothetical regarding DCE, if he accepted that contract extension we offered and signed off, should he happen to have a career ending injury this season, we would be obligated to pay him out.
However, if he signs with the Roosters and then has the same injury, would the Roosters be liable for the contract even though he hasn't started with them yet?.
If he hasn't signed yet with anyone then I would imagine all bets are off.

As the Roosters aren’t Manly I assume the NRL would allow them a way out. NRL anti Manly bias.

“I genuinely don’t know what has been said" Cherry offered when asked if he knew where he stood in regards to Origin selection, but then follows up with "I understand it’s a pretty busy period when it comes to my name"......if he may say so himself!

But hang on, he doesnt know what has been said, but somehow understands a lot is being said - but without knowing what was said? If I knew a lot was being said about me, wouldn't I know what was being said to understand if it was a lot or not??

Anyway, no wonder he felt his decision needed to be an exclusive on channel 9 with Danny Weidler, what his movements are is of utmost importance and interest to the league community as it is a busy period when it comes to his name.

His trajectory has a lot of Michael Clarke about it except for the Central Queensland punch on which he got in a few years earlier.

Watch for the channel 9 bromance with Karlos in the lead up to SOO2.

The drums are beating louder about Slater dropping DCE from SOO 2.

The boys on Triple M just had a big discussion about it & they all seem to think it’ll happen.

Tallis (in response to a question about that old QLD chestnut of picking & sticking) said “it’s not about loyalty, it’s about NOW” & also went on to have a whinge about how small QLD’s talent pool is compared to NSW’s 😂

Always has an excuse, old Geordie.

I've been a big supporter of DCE and I don't think his Origin game was bad, but it's probably a fair time for Qld to have a different energy in their team. Dearden lacks some of DCE's skills but he brings other things.

For Manly point of view.. for the first time I prefer Daly to miss out. We need him focussed 100% on Manly. But if he can't or won't, we need to know sooner than later.

I am not Cherry's biggest fan and hate the way his latest self-created saga has played out. I also think his form has been less than stellar. And from a Manly perspective, I honestly don't know if we'd be better off with or without him in our team right now. But I still reckon dropping him would be a piss-weak move by Slater and Queensland.

He is by no means Queensland's biggest problem, and he's probably earned the right (through what he has given Queensland as opposed to what he has given Manly) to finish up his rep career on his own terms. Yes, it will likely be as the captain of another losing side, but that only seems fitting as well.

And it's not like Dearden's form has been a lot better than Cherry's. I love the way Dearden plays, and he's obviously the next in line for that Queensland spot, but I doubt his presence will do much to change the result of game two or the series.

Gordie is a walking CTE case study.
Either that or he's just a moron naturally.

I support DCE getting dropped but I find it hilarious the dopey queenslanders who trot out this old pick and stick line yet dump the captain what a fraud they are.

The truth is he was finished last season but if you picked for the 1st knowing his form he is entitled to play the 2nd.

Either way this doesn't help us it will just make him sook it up more.

Yep I dont see how they will improve without him in the said.

Just because he doesn’t play origin … it doesn’t mean that he will be focused on manly!

Just sayin’
