The Daly Cherrygraph

So he's not a dollar chaser then?
I can't keep up.
Let’s not be fooled… that is just the number the chooks will have recorded for their cap. I have no doubts that there will be very lucrative extras for Dollars… be it third party deals, gifts, media gig and/or well-paid coaching role post-retirement… all rolled out and arranged by Uncle Nick and friends.

100% the $500k is the chump change , it’s what the other amounts are where the real story lies.

He was MOM in a grand final but that was a long time ago
It's interesting how things change. Reynolds got smashed by all when he couldn't drive home the broncos to a win over Penrith in the GF when having a good lead.

Yet in 2013, Dce got the CC Medal when he couldn't guide manly home in the GF after having a good lead.

Seeing some old footage yesterday did provide a reminder of how good he was in his earlier days, but central to that was his running game. He had senior players around him to control the game management.

Once his running game started losing its impact and reducing to zero, so dare I say did effectiveness as a player, because game management wasn't a strong point.

500k and a coaching job for 1.5million that's easy done

So technically the Rorters being the rorters they always are.

Suddenly there's talk they sign D$E for $500k and a car..hahaha.. yeah right but he's also got a coaching gig that's not under the 2027 cap.
And they pay him an undisclosed amount.. could be 1.5million so they are actually paying 1mill a year for 2 years as per the Uncle Nick handshake agreement but only 2026 and 500k under the cap..

What a rort..seriously do they think people are so stupid. Even is its not 1.5mill and it's 1.1 mill as a coach in 2027 that's 800 per year..

The sad thing is 500k and the 14 jersey is probably close to where he should have been at the end of the last contract

Its where he is going to end up at the chooks

He was pretty damn good today.

Took the line on more times today that he has all season combined.
Makes you wonder where this level of commitment has been previously?
I'm guessing the answer to your question @mave is because it was his milestone 350th and he had all his family and friends there. Obviously about him only (look at me everybody) and not so much about Manly winning. Every other week is just another regular game and no need to put his body on the line.

The funny thing is, the one feature that tickles my funny bone is the car bit - the bloke’s 37 years old, surely he’s got all the cars he’d need at that age, considering the coin he’s been on for the last 15 years.

Are we supposed to believe it was the car being thrown in that got him over the line with them? 😂

Don't worry, I haven't forgotten; we're reminded of it every time someone in the media decides to twist the narrative the other way and defend Daly's status as an NRL legend. I'm talking about DCE putting the team on his back. I don't like to diminish his contributions to our success in 2011-2014, but feel he walked into a team that was already flying and 'fit in'. From the moment it was his job to be top dog, he's failed to really elevate our club to those same lofty heights. I don't kid myself that it's all his fault but 3 finals wins from 12 games in the last 10 years is not great reading for an 'all time great'.

Who cares if the Roosters have him on their books for $500k, he will probably end up only being worth that if his form this season is anything to go by.

He’s probably good at golf. I hear uncle nick sometimes struggles with 2 foot putts when there is money on the line.
