I understand the 'theme' of this thread but no one has mentioned the incredibly high rate of player turnover from the past 3 years.

Tigers 2017 lost their big 3 and their best players at the time.
Their spine was severed with Tedesco and Moses gone . They also lost their captain and leader Woods .
All critics did not rate their 2018 chances as contenders with good reason but the Tigers looked for solutions and the rest is history .
Cleary has a roster mainly of no names playing above their weight , discipline footy and big games and he has also brought the best out of the aging Marshall .
When we focus on excuses then failure is more acceptable .
When we focus on benchmarks our mentality and expectations changes .

I don't think there is all that much difference between the teams these days. It all comes down to which team has a good run with injury and whether they can get up psychologically week in, week out. Melbourne have been the only team that can get up each and every year. I think the game is just too physically and mentally taxing to be up year after year. Some of our elite players play 30 plus games a year! Some years they play until November. This is not only unsustainable, it is cruel. The NFL play 16 weeks, plus play-offs. That's it! These issues will have to be addressed at some stage. It just so happens that the Dragons and Tigers are up mentally this year. As for the Tigers, they have been in hibernation for ten years! It may be Manly next year, who knows?! Parramatta are also taking a mental health year as well (don't laugh!).

It’s a good lesson. I wonder if the Wests Tigers’ fan forum went ballistic over losing woods, Moses, tedesco etc?

We all know what would happen on here if the equivalent occurred.

Tigers have shown that there is life after stars go.

Moses was the trouble-maker. Wood and Tedesco didn't want to leave.

You are right Mark, I might do the same. If only we all couldn't just accept that we are crap this year and say Oh well, there's always next week. Gladly there is so much passion around here for our great club that simply won't happen.

I think with everything that’s going on / gone on, we are going to have a very difficult year, and possibly next year mightn’t be that different as I can hardly imagine players lining up to transfer to us.

I know I'll get slammed for this, but I predicted in round 1, 2016 that Barrett would be a failure and I stand by that. I understand all the "reasons" (Excuses) for it, but most of what is happening within the squad right now is down to poor man management from an inexperienced coach who is the product of the mediocre standards from his time at St George.

I don't know what is going on this year, but i think most of us have had enough. How many seasons has it been now that we have been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons? The club needs someone that won't take any crap from players and pull their heads in. Management haven't helped our cause either.

To be fair there’s multiple people / factions / cliques that have all contributed in some way!
