The Finals thread:

I have really enjoyed the finals series. A couple of things for me

1. Like others have said it shows (at times) how far off the pace we are
2. It has been very interesting to hear Gus talk about the balance of the draw. He even went as far to say that the dogs were higher on the laffer than they maybe should have been (which is why they went for Galvin) thanks to the draw - take out his own agenda and it is fair
3. It is fun to see the news limited media have to eat humble pie after calling for Madges head mid season

Who wins the big dance m'lord?
nah my tips were a fluke. I don’t know how the Broncos got through they had both their games lost but somehow won.

but seeing as I’m on a roll, I’m tipping Manly to make the top 8 next year.

who wins the big dance? I don’t know but the last two broncos games have been rugby league at its best (day games) so hoping it’s another highly entertaining game. The GF really should be a day game.

42 of the last 44 premiers, have had a rep player at 6 or 7. Just checking,do Manly have one of those for the next 2-3 yrs?

If we succeed as a team then individual honours will follow, the individual honours don't necessarily have to come first. We've had an established representative player (sometimes two) in the halves for the last 12 seasons and haven't made it to a Grand Final in that time.

Also when we won in 2008, Orford had played 3 City vs Country games as halfback, and Lyon only played 1 representative game as a 5/8 two years later. So, it's possible.

So storm by 6?

Worth pointing out that Manly beat both of these teams in the regular season, including that Broncos thrashing at Brookie during Origin.

But alas, because our halfback decided to clock out in March we did not take advantage of such a record...

Fun Fact:

The last time there was a Melbourne vs Brisbane NRL Grand Final.....Manly played in 4 of the next 7 GF's and won 2 of them.

History does have a habit of repeating itself (like Abba's Waterloo ... the history book on the shelf is always repeating itself @:p).

Hey, I'm trying to be optimistic here
Hmmm Waterloo. The blonde, the brunette, what’s not to like.

I've just seen a record that says the Broncos are pi$$ poor against Melbourne.

Thus I think Brisbane will win.

We had won 12 games in a row over the Knights going into that game back in 1997.....

The last two Broncos GFs have ended in heartbreak…I’m tipping Melbourne but you sort of feel like the Broncos luck has to change sooner or later.

Hmmm Waterloo. The blonde, the brunette, what’s not to like.

The brunette, Anni-Frid Synni Lyngstad ... or simply Frida, married a Swedish Prince (Heinrich Ruzzo Prinz Reuss von Plauen) in 1992 after she had been out of the group for 10 years. Unfortunately he died of Lymphoma in 1999 at the age of just 49. He was actually her 3rd husband, and her last to date.

She is currently 79. She turns 80 on 15 November.....

The blonde, Agneta Åse Fältskog ... or simply Agnetha, turned 75 in April.
