The Haumole Bible.

Worst of all. Seibold said in tonight's pressr that medical staff said there was a 90% chance Haumole re-injures his shoulder.
I decided to take the calculated risk.

Yes, he is now out for the rest of the season.

Agree XV-1, it just beggars belief Seibold did this.

When your medical staff tell you there’s a 90% chance a bloke will re-injure his shoulder, and you play him anyway, that’s not a “calculated risk,” that’s just plain dumb.

A good coach protects his players. End of story. Not just from the other team, but from situations like this.

Now Haumole’s out for the season, and who knows how serious it could’ve ended up? What kind of message does that send to the rest of the squad? That your health isn’t a priority if the coach wants to roll the dice?

Seibold can spin it how he wants, but this isn’t leadership, it’s recklessness. We need a coach who puts the team and the players’ futures first, not just tries to patch holes week to week.

Why play him? Because he is our best player & we are trying to make finals id guess. I’m sure if they knew it would happen he wouldn’t have played but there was no way of knowing

Seibold himself said in the presser that they knew that there was a 90% chance the shoulder would go again.

To pass him fit to play on that alone is total bull💩, not to mention the coach playing him like that :swear: :swear:

If I'm the CEO of a company and a manager in the company takes a risk that was 90% chance of failing and likely to be detrimental to business, I know what id do.

hopefully our CEO isn't a fan of Coldplay.

The real issue is that there was zero reason why this needed to be stated in the post-match press conference. It just gives the NRL media, most of whom are not medical experts and didn't have access to his scans, nor the conversations about the diagnosis and risks involved, something else to speculate about.

Wow. I'd say that decision has likely ended his long term future as a head NRL coach.

Needs surgery anyways regardless of whether he plays or not… just moved his surgery forward. I’ll guarantee the medical staff were on board, otherwise he would not have been medically cleared to play for insurance reasons. Finally, do you think player wanted to play, knowing risks explained by the medical staff?

Emotional forum group… sure it’s bad news but this happens in footy.. the bone graft stops the shoulder dislocating anteriortly and he will be good as new in ‘26. This is one of the main reasons they get paid so well… tough sport…

Yeah from what I see it was 90% this week or next week...etc. This was going to happen eventually so run the risk, and okka would've agreed so it's not negligence, just a shame he got bumped out of this season like that.
