The Jazz thread ... all that Jazz

I should add that one game against ordinary opposition that conceded 42 points should not count for too much when making a meaningful comparison.
Exactly. I'm very open to Jazz at hooker, but I didn't see any extraordinary night and day difference to Croker just yet. A better sample size will certainly help judgement.

In the absence of sample size, I compared the 10-20 min mark of Saturday's game, to the last game that we had a roll-on like that, the 10-20 min mark of the Round 26 Bulldogs game. I really couldn't tell much of a difference between the service of Croker and Tevaga within those timeframes aside from Tevaga's balls seemed to in general land higher. What was interesting, was that the hit-up runners on Saturday all appeared to have a greater lead-up run compared to last year. That is, irrespective of dummy-half, they were further back, and having longer lead-up runs before taking on the ball. Indicates higher fitness levels across the board to me.

Still think Croker is very underrated/overhated by this forum. When he's back we'll be able to directly compare in games! Can probably hold off on this discussion until then.

I see on Instagram Jazz s looking forward to “ giving it” to his old team mates. “ If we get in front by a couple I’m really going to get it to them “ he said .

Jazz , let’s not jump the gun.

But hope you can do what you plan to do.

I'd play him at 14, coming off the bench to play 40 mins at lock, and 10 mins at hooker to spell Simpkin. Jake will clearly be more effective with less minutes now.

The #9 is Simpkin's to lose now. Jazz is a lock, and our best one.
Agree his leg speed and post contact mtrs made a massive difference in getting a roll on. I seriously hope they keep him in that role for and don’t revert back to 80 mins of jake

It was interesting to hear dce talking to shaun Johnson after the game.

Shaun asked how dce is liking plying with Jazz.

Dce laughed and said he's never taken so many balls passed down around his ankles. Shaun laughed and agreed saying his own hammys still haven't recovered.
They went on to say he's a good player, etc.

I know it's a bit simplistic but sometimes I wonder how you can get all the way to the nrl...as a hooker...and yet you are known for low low passes.

But if it doesn't bother them, who am I to say to the tv...pass the ball to the chest ya caterpillar!?

I saw that and thought it wasn't a great thing to say about a teammate. I think it says as much about DCE's character as jazz's passing.

One thing I like about him is he manages to get an offload away...
Gives us another point of attack

This is exactly what we need, some more 2nd phase play. We aren’t dominant up the middle so we need to find other ways to promote ourselves up the field without going side to side as we do. TKO, Jazz, Jurbo, Sips, Lodge and Brown can all offload. How about we use these weapons Seibs.
