Choc would luv to work with Brad Arthur.
After all it was Brad, Choc and Foran that completely ASS fccuked Manly in 2013/4.
What did Arthur do other than take up a head coach gig when one became available?

Choc and Foran were pissed at the club for backing DCE's money grubbing at the expense of Gifty, and Tat Tooves for not listening to feedback from senior players.

In hindsight, I think Choc and Foran were right.

Where did those two players go?

What did DCE getting an upgrade from minimum wages have to do with Gifty being low balled and forced out?

There is zero logical link, so don't imply one.

Parramatta. No surprise given Arthur knew what they had to offer.

Gifty was low balled because we didn't have space in the cap, and DCE agitated for an unplanned upgrade mid contract. How could there not be a link?

DCE was on minimum wage. No there is no link. You can't link one player on minimum wage asking for a deserved upgrade to another that was not wanted.

Have you not heard, every club says salary cap issues when they don't want to sign somebody.

U r drinking the Watmough cool aid.

Jason King retired in 2014. Could have used that money for Gifty.
Could have used Watmoughs money for Gifty.

The logic, or lack of logic on ST sometimes is astounding.
I'm sure the money could have been used differently from 2012 to 2015, but those guys' perception was that DCE got an upgrade prematurely (when the senior guys were all taking unders to keep the squad intact) and Gifty subsequently got shafted a couple of years later, and it pissed them off.

Maybe it was just optics, but optics matter.

There is a big difference in real unders and back ended contracts, which was closer to reality.

Have been thinking about it more and I can def see a day when he could come to the club. Why?

1. It would likely be his first time coaching role so would be cheap (a tick from our owners)
2. Would generate good PR for no cost (another tick for our owners)
3. At the time it will probably not make any sense regardless of how it may turn out...(another tick from our owners)

I think he'd make a good coach. He is smart, articulate and experienced. He'd also know how to maximise positive media coverage.

If Des is on the move, and considering DCE is leaving, I think we should be doing everything we can to bring him in as a halves mentor for next year.

Could help Walsh and Large out a lot.
