The moving finger ... thread.

He didn't need to measure it, as the creator he already knew the circumference. That's what is cool about being an omnipotent deity - you are the biggest know it all in the universe.
So he created it 200 years after the other guy measured it?
Sounds almost unbelievable.....

I don't have a favourite mathematician but I got a least favourite.....
That bloody Pythagoras !!!!
Never could get the sh*t that dude laid down.
Pain in the a*se made my life a misery at school.

Diophantus for me. Or was it al-Khwarizmi??

Stupid algebra!! We all know how that sh1t came about..

I know right ....almost as unbelievable as being one in the same person who created it 4000 years or so before he turned up via a virgin birth to check out his handy work (didn't pack a tape measure though)

Good choice, he was an absolute nutter .... mad as a Souths supporter, and had a cult following of "Phythagorians" who believed in all manner of weird ****.

Gave you an informative Woodsie in case it was true and not funny.
Gee whiz you are a mine of information today.
I've learned more already than I ever did of that Pythagoras d*ckhead.

A strange side note of the Pythagorean diet is that they were forbidden to eat beans. The reason behind this is not entirely known. A funny anecdote tells us that Pythagoras believed that a human being lost a part of his or her soul whenever passing gas.

Bloody hell.
They wouldn't have fared to well on silvertails then !!

@mozgrame Not funny, true.

I'll take your word for it. You seem like a smart bloke. Here's where I went wrong.

I thought algebra came from the Arabic word al-jabr meaning "reunion of broken parts", which was used in the title of the book "Ilm al-jabr wa'l-mukabala" by Persian mathematician and astronomer al-Khwarizmi.

Interesting side note, but not really, I was much more interested in the work of Al Delvicchio during my schooling days.

Yep, yep, yep yep yep yep yep yep .....

Isn't memory a strange thing. Haven't studied the Mathematicians for 43 years and remembered Al-Jabr, and whilst I would have known the relevance, today I would have put money on my recall. Best google things in future to second guess myself.

I'm glad I'm not as silly as I thought I was. LOL! You are one of my most imaginary friends on here @Woodsie

I've already forgotten the entire conversation. Hey! Memory is a funny thing!!

@:p

I dunno - I've created scones without knowing their circumference.

Ah Budgie, after a Manly win a silvertails fancy turns ... so to you and your delightful partner, another quote from my almost favourite Mathematician.

"Here with a Loaf of Bread beneath the Bough,
A Flask of Wine, a Book of Verse - and Thou
Beside me singing in the Wilderness -
And Wilderness is Paradise enow."
