Algebra was actually named after the Arabian Mathematician Al Jabr.

Isn't memory a strange thing. Haven't studied the Mathematicians for 43 years and remembered Al-Jabr, and whilst I would have known the relevance, today I would have put money on my recall. Best google things in future to second guess myself.
