Tom Trbojevic was a Legend

At training that's all they do half hour before or after. WHATDA F**** it's like playing pool or snookers. U know where to hit the ball for it to go in that angle. Your hole team mates and fans are counting on it. Balls swing left right u should know, because u kick thousands of balls a month. P****of sh####ttttt kicker

I believe that Turbo has lost a yard of pace and his ability to bust the line is limited due to so many horrendous injuries.

I still believe he can regain these attributes, what he needs is our pack to make more yards and our halves to create the space for him.

This year has been so disappointing in so many ways.

Turbo will be back!
With the new six again rules coinciding with his injuries, its going to be a long road back him.

I just think Trbo needs a good break at seasons end! No rep football, no early training, no Corso activity, heal his body, most importantly get his confidence back. He seems to be scared to let loose! Maybe spend some time with a psychologist to get back into a positive frame of mind! I honestly believe he can get back to his 2021 form. He’s at his peak age……a healthy, fit & positive Tom is a huge boost for the team. Other players will respond to him.
You’re dreaming. As much as I share your dream… it’s just that. The guy is never going to get anywhere near 2021 form moving forward. At best, we can hope for an injury-free run and some creative reinvention for his role and position.

Agree Turbo is cooked and his best behind him. Think long and hard however which fullback would you currently have him in front of him?

Given Jake’s insistence on putting renewal negotiations on hold until he assesses whether or not he can go another season after 2026, I’d say he’s very much taking into account his frequent concussions & may very well decide to retire.
He may even retire before his current contract is up.
Yep. And neither Manly nor Jake need to hurry. He won't go to Perth or PNG.
So just assess at the end of each year, if he's fit and keen then sign another year and pay full value (regardless of whether subject of any bidding wars). I think Cam Smith's last few deals at Storm were handled that way.

I still think its mainly a confidence thing, all those injuries take a psychological toll.
I also think we are a bit to premature to write players off.
Many where saying Teddy was done last year and he'll likely win the Dally M this year.
Tom can re-invent himself, he's a total footy player and his greatness is not merely about being the fastest etc.
Some comments I just read in this thread about him being "an OK player" made me laugh! (which is just what I need after Manly's run of losses, so thanks!) 🙂

Re the comparisons with Snake

As great a player as Snake was to be fair he played with a much much better team which helps things

I agree with many on here. In the future when they talk about the players who could have been anything with some more luck re injuries I can not think of many who would beat turbo to the top of that list
Johnny Gibbs is a contender.

Id move him back to the centres as soon as Lehi is back.

Tom on his own our Captain next year for me.

Tom to be more the brains and orchestrator as opposed to just our everything.

He would be great at 6. Does he get his hands on the ball just as much as a floating centre?

Toms best position is no longer fullback.

I just wonder if he's still subconsciously worried about getting injured again. From memory he used to put his body on the line defensively, but, lately I've seen him arm grabbing or just slightly holding back.
Agree but why then is he looking for a few more years extension. Either he is up for the challenge or he’s not

Wonder how Tom & Fogarty would go as our halves???

Pretty sure it would be better than Brooks and Fogarty.

Though I am not a fan of Tom playing 6. His lateral movement is very limited due to size and past injuries.

Tom can't tackle. No way can he be at #6.

Dennis Lillie anyone
Never knock a champion
They have a habit of making you eat your words
Closed mouth swallows no foot
Astounded that some think turbo is washed up
BTW
The great Snakes non involve in coaching this year has not been coincidental in our attacking or defensive decline
Snake had a football brain that directed the spine and orders from the back that were never ignored
We miss Snake time at training and fame day
