This season is a write off. I would be inclined to rest Tom for the rest of the year, tell the Aus selectors that he is carrying an injury and won't be available for the ashes series (because you still get the feeling they'd take him) and see what he's like after a good spell of just getting his body right and fit.
I know he's on a lot of money but if we keep flogging him then he has no future anyway

But he's continually brought back when obviously not fit. He's not going to regain fitness while playing busted.
I'm still of the belief he can come good. I may be deluded and for virtually every other player I probably wouldn't have the patience

UK I really hope you are right mate. I am a pessimist on Tommy, I think his days are numbered.

If you still think he can come good, then yes, it's a difficult decision. His ceiling is so high that it seems crazy not to make allowances for him. But I'm just not sure there is any timeline remaining in the NRL multiverse where Tommy is 100% fit. It feels like these days he lands somewhere on a sliding scale between 25% and 75% fit. Which is another way of saying that he is mostly 100% not fit.

Before last night's game, I was excited to see him warming up (and playing!) without any strapping. "Here we go!" I thought. "Tommy could be on tonight!" But his heart and mind were not in it, and he was never a threat to the Titans' defence.

It is indeed a head scratcher. Mentioned in another thread, but I think DCE's shenanigans may be weighing heavily on both Tom and Jake. But that could merely be a manifestation of my own disgust with Cherry and a willingness to blame everything on him🙂

I’ve been thinking the same thing. And after Friday night it seems more plausible.
We’ll probably never know though.
