agree.

Mitchel to full back, Graham to centre.

Tom cannot play like that, just a battering ram. Didn't look like himself again tonight, a far cry from that game against Canberra.

Needs to concentrate on playing like he did against Canberra week in week out for Manly
Tom just never got in the game, saw little ball, the balls he did get were just hit-ups anyway. Fullbacks his spot or as a roving winger in Origin side.

I think his defence was solid. Attack was average. Didn’t get much opportunity no, but compare his runs to that game where he totally blitzed it. First hit up in that game was insane and he didnt look back. Tonight nothing like that. He wasn’t alone either. NSW lacklustre.
I just noticed he was back-pedalling every time the ball was spread to his edge. Further, when he would eventually make contact, he would concede a lot of post contact metres. Put it this way, he looked like a fullback playing centre.

What did you think of the Blues go forward? I thought they carried OK but the polish on the end of it was lacklustre.

He got absolutely no quality ball. Tedesco the glory seeker, all he did was cut back inside and get shut down. He had a number of opportunities to put Tom one on one with his opposite and ball hogged instead. Without seeing the ratings, Teddy the pet will probably get an 8/10 because he “looked dangerous all night”.

Unfortunately I don’t think you can make yourself ‘available’ then ‘unavailable’ during the same series. The time to wave the unavailability flag was probably about 2-3 months ago. But totally agree, would love to see both him not playing SOO this year.

On a brighter note, at least he didn’t suffer another leg injury.
Yeah you probably right. He needs time to get back to his best.

The riff crew totally ignored him also

He looked a little awkward last night, his first carry from Kickoff was the best....then they looked very uncomfortable, yeh I know it's SOO, but a fresh Tom in the past has still looked like he was gliding, still a fair way off and that easy win over Raiders with skittles defence, made Tom look like he was back to a better place than he is.
Pretty disappointed, hoped he would scrape through the game maybe snagging a try and come back confindent for the team who pays him the Massive $$$$$$ but here we go again, it's like an ugly version of "Groundhog Day".

The Penrith connection was mostly on the left and turbo was playing a standard right centre role.

I thought Cleary had a poor game and the ball didn't get out to turbo and fox on the right much. Not a good combination with Frizzel and Teddy either.

Tommy ran hard and looked strong last night
But was heavily marked and restrained by the strong and resilient Maroon defense

The Maroons were not just a great bunch of talented individual players
They were also molded into a resilient Maroon team that defied both the NSW Blues as well as Adversity and Prevailed

A couple of things for me

1. If it is a cat 1 you would hope the club does not rush him back - head knocks are scary
2. He got 0 ball in space - Tyson F seemed to get the ball in space where Turbo was mainly the hard yards

The way the game was run by the Panfers kids he was never in it

From the NRL site

Only Category 2 head injuries are eligible for appeal of the 11-day stand down.
The reason for 11 days is as I understand it is that no matter what day the NRL is played on - Thurs to Sunday - it's effectively the next match regardless, it's really just a made up amount of days to cover sitting out the next match.

The problem we have is that SOO is played on a Wednesday and our next game is a Friday, if we didn't have the bye this week it'd be two matches, so is that fair that one player has to sit out two matches just because of the draw?
Adds a new meaning to "the luck of the draw"!
If it was on the Sunday would he be right to play?

Providing he's okay and passes all the protocols, surely we'd have some cause for an appeal.

According to the NRL policy, to play within the 11 days, needs written clearance from a specialist concussion doctor.

With no prior history of concussions, and 9 days since Origin, I would say Tom has a good chance of being cleared for the dolphins game (based on my zero years as a medical practitioner).
