Who pestered Seibs to play Garrick at centre?

Nobody. Mestrov and Seibs re-signed Garrick on centre $$.
I am not a fan of Garrick at centre, however he is improving his D slowly and Hoppa jnr coming in really ensures he plays centre now.

Talau is the most overrated player on these boards. He had a decent season last year and is good depth in the outside backs. He is a solid first grader and on par with Saab for what he can bring. Where Saab has pace and height, Talau has a better yardage carry, hands and game awareness. They balance each other out. But...Talau is not a star and whether he is there or not, doesn't determine a win or loss. He's just OK.

Either way, he was likely our most consistent back last year, playing at a good first-grade standard week in and week out.

Notwithstanding that, i would let him walk at year end, given i think Clayton F can be our backup in the outside backs, and we desperately need to spend the money in the forwards.

The thing with Talau is you can see he's injured, but he generally just bites down on the mouth guard and gets his job done.

He's not a superstar but he's tough, something our team really lacks in the back line.

In an ideal world we keep Talau - but given salary cap constraints, if another club throws 500k at him then we have to let him go.

priority needs to spend the money in the forwards.

I think Talau should be in our starting side simple as that, his yardage carries and agression is what we need more of, his not a winger, doesn’t have the speed so no point comparing him to Saab, who is quick and not much else.

Koula is no doubt more valuable to our side, but for me his wasted at centre, he rarely gets good ball and plays like his a front rower at times, Koula should be our FB, his speed out the back is what we need, his played well there for us, has taken a couple of nice high balls last couple of weeks, I believe his game would explode to next level as a FB, you must have speed out the back, yep what about Turbo, well his best days at FB are sadly over, his speed and defensive work just aren’t where they should, his a star and can do a job for us in the centres with Talau or Garrick should he have to stay as a centre, but his best football was on the wing, his a quality finisher and way more suited on the wing, let’s us put the 2 Tommy’s in our three quarter line wher Turbo can Rome and link into the backline pretty much just as he does now.

Lehi, to good to be on the wing, he can play there for another year or two while building his physique, then he can move into the centres or I’d even be tempted to try him as a 6, his crafty and has the footy smarts to make a fist of it, yes Brookies, well he may be best shopped if his form doesn’t improve. Lehi and Fog could rebirth us in the halves, if Large or Walsh come on, that’s an if, then we’ll look at it then and do what’s best for the team, this picking and sticking is garbage when we can run out a stronger side. Maybe Lehi moves to centre to makes way for one of the youngsters, who knows by then one of the 2 Tommy’s might be needing to be moved on.

Things aren’t that great at present and anything that might help the side perform better should be considered, yes we should even consider a new a forward pack because there’s not a lot of improvement there full stop.
