Toovey .. and the big issues ..

I must point out that the picture in the article isn't actually a Commodore. Its a VZ Monaro.

And most Aussie car drivers who do drive with either their arm out the window or just resting on the windowsill do so because not only is it comfortable (I rest my right arm there), but we figure that Brocky did it at 200 km/h during his career so we can do it at 60 or 100.
I tell my mate there a 2 door Commodore , gee he gets the ****s.

Yes and no. The original concept car that debuted at the 1998 Sydney Motor Show was built on the VT Commodore platform, and the first new generation Monaro was based on the VX Commodore. But the VX version and the later VZ had to have a modified platform due to the loss of the rear doors, though a compromise was made in extending the length of the front doors.

Otherwise yes, the VX and VZ Monaro's were essentially 2-door Commodore's.

You definitely know a bit about Holdenv8.

I've still got my old vz 9C1. Had it since it was 7 months old and can not part with it. You didn't have the option of a V8 in the vz executives...but being police issue, it has the 5.7 in it...FE2, black interior etc.

I laugh when people ask me if it's chipped. An urban legend that just won't die..haha! Had to explain to an old mechanic once that it isn't a BT1. There were a couple of vs's that were recoded from BT1 to 9C1...but it kicked in fully with the vt.

Badged executive...it's a great little sleeper to surprise the young blokes with at the lights.

I have been reading the posts for the past 3 months, and ... I think the collective numb-nut stage was reached about rd 7 ... however if the above issue was considered important enough for 2V .... then that will do me ....

PSS ... I drive a Commodore with one big meaty gun hanging out

Bloody hell @Woodsie .....if you can't keep that thing under your kilt, strap it to your leg or something. You'll get done for indecent exposure one day!

Only 184k. (Only 14k a year since new a dealer would tell you) We've got 4 cars on the road, so I don't drive it that much...and I've gone out of my way to keep it as original as possible...apart from a wing and mags. Still a beautiful car to drive. The missus is up me to sell it, but I told her I'd only sell it to a Manly supporter...I'll throw in the plates if anyone's interested....@:) PM me for more photos...

Cheers, mate!

I've always babied it! There's nothing sadder than seeing young blokes get their hands on a car and then run it into the ground. I've had a lot of offers to buy this one off me...but I'd only sell it to someone that would enjoy the drive, and still look after it! That narrows the potential buyers, keeps the missus happy - because I'm willing to sell, and lets me still use it as a weekend cruiser. Win, win, win!!
