However ... if you wanna make sweeping statements of fact! It's always more persuasive to back them up with something. (in my opinion)
Otherwise it's easy for people who don't agree with you to just say, Ah, i don't agree.
 
then next minute we've got Tis, tisn't, Tis, Tisn't etc etc
Which probably doesn't really advance anyone's understanding much
