Trump

Voter suppression ramps up, you know for democracy

Carville spends his time in motel rooms lecturing the Democrat moderates to embrace the progressives like Huckleberry and AOC, look him up, he's weird.

It's ok to be considered weird.

What is important is the facts produced in the article.
It is difficult to glean the facts from the ridiculous over-the-top hyperbole and playing-to-the-base scaremongering;

  • “the hoof prints are coming”
  • “Trumps legal henchwoman”
  • removing people from electoral rolls who do not return completed paperwork is “purging via caging”
  • “5 corrupt republicans on the Supreme Court”
  • people who challenge ballots are “MAGA militia”

If you wade through the propaganda, the article seems to be describing actions taken to ensure the electoral process is safeguarded from wide scale rorting. I would also note the long-standing inherent racism in the position that African Americans cannot be expected to have or provide paperwork. Surely after all the advances made under the Obama presidency such antiquated thinking should be consigned to the dustbin of history.

If this is an example of the type of information being absorbed by those on the left, I’m not surprised that the quality of political discourse has deteriorated to the extent it has.

Or maybe the US attracts the highest number of illegal immigrants because it offers generous welfare, health care and homeless shelters, courtesy of its economic system?
I think it is the perception of opportunity more so. Whilst there are some benefits mostly they are, like everything these days, well over stated.

Undocumented immigrants are barred from most federally funded programs, including:
Medicaid and Medicare: Except for emergency services.
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP): Commonly known as food stamps.
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI): Cash assistance programs.
Social Security and Unemployment Benefits: Inaccessible without legal status.
A valid Social Security number is typically required to access these programs, which undocumented immigrants do not possess.

(Explainer: Immigrants and the Use of Public Benefits in the United States)

Now that said there is some state based programs in cali, NY and a couple of others but it is not wide spread.

What is interesting is in 2022, they paid approximately $96.7 billion in federal, state, and local taxes.

(How US immigrants working illegally help fund programs they can't access, like Social Security and Medicare)

Lolol, and yet he can understand 'perfectly' Trump's rambling campaign weaves! @:)

@manlyfan76 you might have better luck getting a genuine honest exchange of views with Bozo? either way... good luck
I thought we were having a genuine, honest exchange of views? I think what you mean is we don’t agree, which I am comfortable with, given your recent posts seem to suggest your preference for communism over capitalism.

Some good points there. I was specifically responding to the view that the capitalist system relies on a layer of poverty to sustain the wealthy elite, which seems incompatible with the fact the US is the primary destination for illegal immigrants in the world. If the capitalist system is so bad, why is it so attractive to illegal immigrants? Why wouldn’t they just stay where they are?

Honestly as a child of immigrants whose parents were refugees they did not care where they went they just wanted to get out of where they were (at the end of WW2 all my family got split as they all took the first boats that would take them)

Again that is not reflective of everyone just our situation

Good point, and I think refugees from war zones should, and I think are, treated differently. If you look at the country of origin for illegal immigrants to the US, the main countries are Mexico, other Central American countries and India. There are clearly many people who believe the US offers them a chance of a better life, which I can totally understand. Is it perfect? No, but there are clearly a lot worse places to live in this world.

Not about Trump the man but fits in here under the extended definition (Trump the political phenomenon)

Calls are mounting to ban Germany’s far-right AfD party – despite it being more popular than ever

In May, the country’s domestic intelligence agency formally classified the AfD as an extremist entity that threatens democracy. In a 1,100-page report, the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, or BfV, also laid out its findings that the party was racist, anti-Muslim, and devaluing of “entire segments” of Germany’s population.

That move, which enables the BfV to better monitor the group , has reignited attempts to impose a ban, despite the party claiming a significant 20.8% of the vote in February’s national election – the best performance by a far-right party in the country since World War II.

The AfD has also enjoyed very vocal support from the Trump administration

“Far right” being anyone not a globalist/communist.

Come on here's your chance to prove your claim you are only interested in genuine honest consideration of stuff happening in the world.
So is that your best insight? or have you actually got something we can all think about?

Bit like photos of UFO's, not sure if it's the real thing or just a good fake.
Maybe
But people have been saying he was in deep with Epstein, who called him a friend.

I wouldn't want to be accused of being a PDF and if releasing the docs cleared me that's absolutely what is do.
