Trump

Were you in hibernation for sleepy Joe’s 4 year term?
A couple of things about Biden

1. He did have a stutter which impacted things
2. There are very valid questions that should be asked about his mental health towards the end of his presidency. All that said he was clearly held to a higher standard than Trump is.

See it is not that hard to be critical of your own "guy" instead of whatabouting.

I wouldn’t have pegged you as a WWE fan, just goes to show I guess. It is good to see you are a supporter of Australia’s British colonial heritage and the excellent institutions it has left us with. I’ll give you a pass on the racist comment given it is of the acceptable kind. Also, don’t you think the magat moniker is a little childish for someone of your self professed intellectualism?

Final thought, perhaps your post could have been improved by some charts/statistics, which might have addressed the apparent inconsistency posed by the 19 years of the Menzies govt, the 11 years of the Howard govt and the 9 years of conservative rule immediately prior to the current “government”. Or have our strong education systems only evolved under Albo?
WWE unfortunately peaked in late 90s... If anyone happens to watch it today all power to them. Watched their debut episode on Netflix and the product seemed to have been sterilised a great deal. That clip of Aussies booing the US anthem was news in US, UK, Canada etc (search "Australians boo US anthem".

Again on 'MAGAt': I didn't want to blindly group all conservatives / republicans / right wing individuals into the above post. I could repeat 'MAGA sympathisers' over and over, although MAGAt is more efficient in that regard. People have been taking offence to it. A positive out of this is that some of you may start to consciously reflect on the use of 'ANTIFA' (ANTIFA terrorist), 'radical leftist', 'woke liberals', 'lefties', 'the left', 'Dems', etc.

I view these to be more damaging examples of childish, reductive black and white thinking. If MAGAt is taken as an offensive pluralisation of MAGA ill put it out of use. I trust Trump-fans will try make a conscious effort to do similar.

On your other comment re: stats - while i'm a lover of stats, I am unfortunately not the bearer of stats. When two people disagree, it's hard to argue that the first step to reach a common ground involves each explaining why they believe their ideas are evidence-based and including relevant evidence.

Lastly, when I claim MAGA is an anti-intellectual movement I hope you haven't been interpreting that as me 'self-proclaiming' to be an intellectual... My whole deal is supporting professionals irrespective of the industry or education requirement. You'll probably recall one post where I talked about the example of an engineer versus a tradie. It'd be a disaster if we let hairdressers or tradies design a rocket or bridge. However, the main point was that it would also be a complete disaster if engineers were responsible for cutting people's hair or doing carpentry work with no formal training.

I simply disagreed & replied to what he said - In what world is that whatabouting? I don’t think you actually know what that means you just throw it around in complete wrong context when you don’t think the argument is going in your favour.

I don’t care about the excuse of a stutter - that’s been played out plenty. How about we focus on the facts? The facts are it’s officially been released that the White House & media were covering for Sleepy Joe during his downfall as President. FACT

Biden's obvious decline is why the super unpopular "Cackling Kamala" made her disastrous run for office. It was the worst political endorsement decision of recent times. Maybe if Labour start campaigning for Penny Wrong to be Prime Minister in the future, that will be an even worse choice.

Yea pretty sad when people can’t even admit to themselves that Biden was clearly incompetent… especially when there have been books published by the likes of Jake Tapper (one of the most famous journalist in USA) admitting to a disgraceful cover up

B1973!! that poor old c%$#, how could the leftists put that up in front of the world, and how could anyone with1/2 a brain defend that even if they are rusted on leftists who refuse to acknowledge facts and or see the light!
That was the President of the United States, not knowing which way was up .
But nooooo he was as "sharp as a tack, at the peak of his powers, totally plugged in and switched on" ,they cried !!!
Honestly Id forgotten how terrible that was, then they thru him out like last night's leftovers and brought in the smartest women in the room ..the chief DEI pick ,,brilliant,,,,and what a stunning litany of clueless, directionless word salads did she make .!!!
I'm getting tired of having to argue what Trump has done and the merits of it ,if those that keep saying that he is the most illiterate ,dumbest stupidest ,most corrupt ,everything he s done is wrong etc President in history, and they can't, on balance see the wood from the trees ,then that says more about them tbh
You know what they say about arguing with idiots ,, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t care what terms get thrown around. Just think Magat is a little juvenile, but if people think it’s clever, so be it. Not sure the reference to ANTIFA is making the point you think it is, given it originated from the left (until of course it was decided it never really existed after the heat was applied - a classic piece of Orwellian non-speak that one). Not sure I followed the rest, but no matter.

NB it is a little sad and desperate the way leftists have jumped on booing at a WWE event as some sort of anti Trump political protest, and by proxy a validation of their own extreme TDS. But so be it, whatever it takes to maintain the “ego scaffolding” as Greg Gutfield puts it. Cheers.

The Biden/autopen coverup is up there with the greatest political scandals in history, but gets barely any coverage from those so-called bastions of journalistic integrity the NY Times, Washington Post, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC etc. Woodward and Bernstein are haled as leftist heroes for uncovering watergate, but the silence on Autopen speaks volumes for the politicisation of supposed independent journalism across the western world.

Only 16% of Australians think that Trump’s second term has been good for Australia so far.

The 16% includes a select few Silvertails who cheer on his every move with glee, it seems.

But why? I strongly suspect it's because they see Trump as anti-woke, and it's as simple as that. If so, just admit it, don't be so shy.

I'm not often in the majority but in this case I am because I fail to see how it's a plus for Australia to have the world's richest country (and our most powerful ally) ruled by a would-be dictator who is not only corrupt and unpredictable but (and this worse) is tearing down every institution of democracy to cement his rule, relegating women to the kitchen and childbearing, encouraging white nationalism, Islamopobia, and all forms of racism, and increasing the wealth gap in his own country and the world.

Good luck explaining to me how Trump is good for Australia, that's a tough one.

I don't disagree he was increasingly less competent towards the backend - who knows, maybe his advisors felt he was indeed incompetent. I watched a video of his speech other the years and there was an evident drop off one year (during his presidency). Even if Biden was functionally incompetent (which we don't know), I don't understand what the perceived consequence was? Forlorn public speeches?

Was he running every aspect of govt before his apparent decline? No.
Overruling their economists? Probably not.
Proposing radical new policies? No, certainly not relative to current admin.
Did he fundamentally change government structures, foreign policy or trade relations? No.
Gut industries and education? No.

Most of his term was just focused on steadying things after Covid. His actions did not differ from that of a typical president. Even Trump term 1 was more conventional than expected because he was working in an established bureaucratic, democratic government structure (not oligarchic/klepocratic). Until Trump 2.0, presidents were largely figureheads for the state. They each had influence, but not autonomy.

Is it not a contradictory argument to claim Biden was simultaneously;
i) incompetent
ii) critically influential / culpable

ok got it.

MAGAt being plural for 'MAGA people' = juvenile

It is not at all juvenile to suggest every Perth WWE fan is a 'leftist' (certainly looks as though all were booing)

Sidenote: WWE is directly tied with MAGA leadership through Linda McMahon (the CEO and her daughter were front row at her confirmation hearing).

Interesting you extend this idea beyond America. Anyone that disagrees with the modern state of the USA is a leftie. In the real world, not 100% of people vote 'left' in Perth; Australians just happen to be happy booing the MAGAformed US.

Apologies for drifting off track... because repeating lies helps to reinforce them: Radical leftists/ lefties / woke people / ANTIFA are all not examples of juvenile terminology.

Again, Antifa is short for anti-fascist. It is an idea, not a group and you're flat earthing
Actually, out of curiosity, do you believe the earth is a sphere or a flat plate?

Biden being the then President, he should

Not sure I followed any of that, but thanks for taking the time to respond. Cheers.

Oh you can't decipher sarcasm. This piece of information may actually explain a lot.

Ill copy/paste the main part again.
