I was on that bandwagon but he has improved out of sight as a centre .... but I also appreciate wing was /is his best position
Definitely improved, but he’s not a top shelf centre. Still makes some basic defensive errors (see the broncos first try last week) and has work to do on positional play. He is a top shelf winger though and our best backline has him and Talau/Clayton/Saab on the wings, Koula and Tom at Centre and Lehi at fullback.

The bizarre thing about Tom is he played so well for Australia at the end of last season and had speed. Then, come the start of this year…gone?! How do you lose speed in six months? Not to mention 8 tackle breaks against the Cowboys in rd.1. I think he was playing busted post-Warriors game in Rd.2 when he went down with an MCL.
Clearly affecting his acceleration in post, although he hasn't had a game since where he hasn't been affected by unrelated injuries.

He was heavily strapped up in his return against Penrith, and although he lost the strapping two weeks ago, he had a cork...

I hope this extended break, which is seemingly not entirely required, gives him the opportunity to freshen up. Next few games should be about rebuilding his confidence in his body, and in his attack. Clearly both have gone backwards again this season, after a return to form when he came back last year.

The only silver lining here is that these aren't recurring injuries. It's just Turbo's average luck from being a massive human freak of nature. He had a good run without injuries last year, let's hope it's a while before the next again.

He was gun in origin. I dont think rating his club stint at centre is fair considering his overall form has been average for club. I still think he will come good but he needs to stop playing injured. Take a pay cut, get the body right and let the youngsters take centre stage until he is

I largely agree with your last point, as long as it's 2025 Tom. If 2024 Tom suddenly makes a return, I'd put Lehi back on the wing. Long term, Lehi will be the superior player at peak form, probably from 2027 onwards.

Reuben has a strong tackling efficiency for a centre, and has had the most one-on-one tackles in the entire competition for all positions. It's only a matter of time before anyone in that position misses a tackle, given the amount of traffic that edge receives. His defensive deficiency last year was about his reads, IMO this has been fixed. As long as DCE is here, that edge will be targeted.

The club clearly still has faith in Turbo, and Seibold has pulled the trigger on moving him to the centres before, so I don't think it's as black and white as some think. If Hoppa has a blinder, it could be that scenario again.

That’s a lot of wingers - but I disagree I think he has become a top shelf centre.

Talau as centre backup. Clayton has surprised me this year - a definite keeper but we now look well stocked for outside backs. Good position to be in. Maybe if Clayton or Talau could transition to back row we would be sweet.

Well you if all this stuff plays out it should gives us plenty of cap space to target a blue chip forward or two.

Approximate savings;
DCE - $400k pa
Turbo - $300k pa
Jake - $400k pa
Yes but we also have just extended talau. Bullemor and faulalo. Hopoate is due a hefty upgrade. We still need to shed some $$$ i think.
