Pretty common as he is the GM of Football. I know Bonsara use to do most of the contract negotiations when he was in the chair. I am sure Mestrov is involved at arms length in most of the discussions etc

Because it will no doubt be announced officially in the near future, whereas the SL gossip couldn't have come to fruition for at least a year because Tom is contracted for 2026.

Any rumour that can't be proven for such a length of time immediately rings bells as bullsh1t for me.

I'd prefer to think the SL stuff was purely to gauge interest, and establish a $$$ baseline to present to the NRL in case of them trying to knock back the contract on the grounds of "nominated value".

Hey mate @AndWeDon'tCare, just wondering if you’ve heard anything on Jake’s contract status?

The Chammas article today said he’s been thinking about retirement post his “current deal that ends in 2027” – but his contract only runs until the end of 2026. From what I understand, Manly have offered him a 1-year extension for 2027. Do you reckon Chammas just got his dates wrong, or have you heard anything about whether Jake is leaning towards signing on for 2027 or finishing up after 2026? Appreciate your insight as always.
