Turbo tied up long term

Might be on a back ended contract 💰
Oh I thought you only got ‘back ended’ contracts if at the Roosters 🤭. Oh wait ‘rear ended’. I mean there really are some cracks appearing at the Roosters. Lots of innuendos floated about DCE so he’s gonna have to watch his back….😳. Isn’t an innuendo an Italian suppository?

🤣🤣🤣WTF are you on?! 😂

Guess that means Lehi staying on the wing into the indefinite future on the assumption that Turbo may finally have a better run on the injury front .
Gifted individual footy player [ Lehi ] ' but just did not seem to have the same effectiveness in the main from the back when playing there on occasions this year and after really standing out there regularly in numerous games in 24
No doubt again , opposition defence paying closer attention to him when playing there but fortunately , has continued to do well and make the most of his opportunities on the wing this season
Think that he is still signed for 2 more seasons but Turbo "s new contract apparently covers the 3 seasons after 26
Thought like a couple of others that Lehi could go quite well as a 6 with a bit of adjustment but with Walsh and Large coming on and Brooks and Fog in the system , not going to happen or even to be considered any time soon
Maybe could or receive offers soon elsewhere approaching full backs money but also hopefully , just enough incentive and reason to continue on with Manly in the continuing Turbo era and beyond , even if it means more wing play then not and on some respectable coin

Second year syndrome.

Lehi did look a little flat (by his standards) at stages this year but was still one of Manly's best.

In fact finished 4th in our MVP including MOM in rounds 7 (fullback), 12 (wing), and 13 (fullback), plus getting among the points at both ends of the season. Very hard for a young player to excel over such a long demanding season.

Kids a star!

Big Papa Hoppa might start agitating for a release.
I don’t think any team would currently take Hoppa over their known quantity fullback.

For 2028 (the year his contract is up), these are the fullbacks he will have to unseat:

Brisbane - Walsh
Canberra - Weekes
Canterbury - Ponga apparently (??)
Cronulla - Kennedy
Gold Coast - Kini
Manly - Turbo or Hoppa
Melbourne - Faalogo
Newcastle - Sharpe
North Queensland - Drinkwater
Parramatta - Iongi
Penrith - Edwards, or a Penrith junior
PNG - ?
Redcliffe - Hammer
St George - Possibly Sloan
Rabbitohs - Latrell or Gray
Roosters - Name escapes me, young guy who is very impressive
Warriors - CNK or Tuipiki
Wests - Bula

The only options here, are PNG or St George, if Sloan leaves. I don’t think those are great options.

Maybe the Roosters if they ditch their highly touted junior, although I doubt it.

Keep an eye out for Cronulla... I'm just throwing it out there.

Poor old Danny having another crack at Manly.

I would hazard a guess that both he and DCE are having a great old-time coming up with this garbage.

"You can imagine his disappointment then when the club reached out around the time Chammas’ story went live on Friday..."

It seems to be with Danny that JUST at the time an article is written or a piece is put on the air, that Manly "appear" to "continue with their negotiations".

That comment would have to be the ultimate "hedge" for a "journalist" who thrives on such rubbish.

Please, Danny, leave us alone.

Here's one for you Danny.... Have a look close to home... Why don't you pick up the phone and call a certain coach and club owner who had an ALMIGHTY argument during the week about a certain player in their club who, let's say, was in the press quite a lot.

It got to the point during the conversation where the coach, a very successful one, offered his resignation in the defence of said player, if the player was going to be sacked by the owner, the coach felt that decision, legal arguments aside, wasn't in the best interest of the squad.

He was defending his player, the owner was trying to ensure that his position couldn't be seen as a weakness by those outside the club, especially given his comments earlier in the year.

Of course, you didn't hear about that one Danny because you were too busy concentrating on a story about nothing.

Make some calls, you might actually find some cracks appearing at that Club... Oh and isn't it ironic that there's been absolutely ZERO coverage of the other attendees on that trip, even to say, "obtain a quote" on what went on.

Your days as the "man" at the SMH are coming to an end and you my friend, are struggling to deal with it.

So 4 more years and roughly $4 mil of salary cap sitting on the sideline for half of it. Watching him this year does anyone seriously think he can produce elite level return for another 4 years. I hope there's clauses to cover both club and player in this.

Interestingly, I thought Hoppa was a different player after his concussion in Newcastle. I thought he started the season in great form and was doing excellent things out of yardage. I feel we would have won that game in Newcastle if he didn’t get knocked out. It was the reshuffle with Ben T to centre that opened up Gagai that night and led to a number of tries and/or line breaks that they eventually scored off.

His back end of the season was less inspiring and he looked a little tired by his usual high standards. Still, he was solid.

He's copped a few injuries already so I hope he gets a clearer run next season. He plays tough which increases the risk

His colleague, Neil Breeeeeen, is certainly interested in the goings on at Goosters.

He was suggesting early this season that Robinson would be on shaky ground, if the Roosters had another sub-par - by their current standards, not their more traditional standards of Eastern Suburbs’ footballing mediocrity - season.

Was really trying to draw a distinction between the majority of his games at full back last season with the games he played there this season .
Can only really think of the game against the Broncs at Brookie this season where he really stood out , could have been another one or so but last season and as noted by plenty of general commentary , pretty much standing out in most games he had at the back
Just didn"t seem to have the same attacking opportunities from full back this season but would not attribute the blame there on him for that
Classy player regardless and positionally and anticipation wise , certainly makes scoring from the wing look easy at times even though on the end of some good selective passing at times also
Was mainly trying to point out again , with the Turbo extension , going to be just that much harder to keep him long term but of course , certainly hope there will be a way where he can stay long term
