Weidler reporting AGAIN that he's not happy at Manly and Superleague clubs have been told he's open to offers.

Hopefully Weidler is wrong again.

Regardless, there's way too much wrong with our club

The coach has obviously lost the dressing room.
This cant be allowed to fester further!!!
And that’s the most annoying thing. If it’s true that senior players went to management to voice their concerns about the coach and management’s response was to extend the coach’s contract, did they really expect a good outcome

When certain players turned up their performance for dce’s 350 it was evident that the team are more than capable they just weren’t putting in for the coach/club in previous games to make a point

No no no,nothing wrong at the club, just injuries and salary cap restraints.Everything behind the scenes is running smoothly and the coach is top shelf.Nevermind the fact DCE wanted out,Ennis and Daley rejected offers and the board isnt happy that the chairman is also part of the ownership.Everything is going swimmingly.Dont forget,50% is something to be proud of

I wouldn't be too upset if he went to Superleague, even though he is one of my favourite current players.
We are not getting the value on what he is being paid at no fault from him.
Half his current salary is what he should be receiving with the amount of time he spends on the sidelines and his confidence is shot because of that.

There does seem to be a problem at the club with management and coaching, easy to say replace the coach but who do you bring in especially under Penn run everything on a oily rag and hope for the best.

Is there are more equitable way to pay players than a straight salary?
For example; Pay a player a salary of $400,000 per season plus, say, $20,000 per match?
Sure, the club would have to leave sufficient space in the Cap to cover the player for maximum participation.
Several clubs, including ours, have been disadvantaged in the Cap by players getting long-term injuries near the start of the season. Tent, Froggy and Al are three examples, but what about the 'Fins having to pay Fleggler full whack for the past two seasons when he hasn't played a match?
Is such a payment arrangement legal under the ciurrent Cap laws?

You couldn’t do it because you have to spend 95% of the cap in the rules.

Classic Silvertails

A) three months ago everyone wanted to punt Turbo as he’d barely played a game , or a decent one , since 2021.
B) almost everyone , to a T , reckons he is worth about half what he’s getting and would be better off being sent to SL.
C) then old Danny the wanker , reads ST, and makes up a story , and ST members take the bait, hook , line & sinker.
D) and now there’s absolute outrage.

As I say , Classic ST.

Let’s just see how this plays out , and to be honest , we all love Jurbo / Turbo they are the embodiment of the DNA at present BUT this is a business now , we aren’t competitive , to be competitive we need some key players who are at the top of their game ( in addition to our youngsters ).

But how do we get said players without cap space ???

I’m ambivalent, love to see Tom stay on , but with his history it cannot be at 1.1 million a year SO if Super League offers him 1.3 million for 3 years we would be crazy to match.

we cant afford the trbojevics thats the bottom line their last deal crippled the club on the field. its just too much money collectively just to keep tom your talking 2.4m+ You could literally buy any star player in the comp for that money.

The numbers floated regarding to re-signing is closer to 1.3mil

Couldn’t you say the same about Des regarding Foran’s last game?
