Match Stats

Our defence was well prepared for the dangerous warriors attack. Big tick in trying to win it with defence in one way.

But I don't like they put the attacking cue in the rack all the same Sure try and win it with your defence and grind it with field position. But we through zero in attack for the last 20 mins of that game. Got to find that balance of percentage attacking plays.

Still positives from it. On wards and up wards. Some fresh blood next week to get the win.
I was particularly impressed with how we handled their forwards, Fonua Blake

Before the game I guess most of us would take a point. Because we had a lead going into the last couple of minutes it feels massively deflating. I guess we just have to take the positives from it: We kept AFB and RTS quiet. We had some adversity with the Burbo injury and had players out of position and Croker had to come back on early. Our defence looked good and well structured.
I just wish we could find a way to get Koula into the game, he only needs half a yard but we seem to struggle to find him, in those last few minutes I thought against tiring players he could have been the difference.
Happy with our improvement though, last year we would have lost this game by plenty

I'm a bit over golden point, it's just bash it up and hope for a penalty or defend and hope for a mistake to get in position to kick a fg. They should make it golden try to get some expansive play, or just call it at full time imo

When's tom going to stop taking the hit up on the 4th, it's getting so predictable, he should be out the back waiting to put a move on, I know a lot of teams take a settler on the 4th to get in position for the kick, but it's boring, I think we should be using our backline more chance of scoring than tom taking the hit up

All in all, a strong performance. Beating the Warriors at home was always going to be very tough task, considering the injuries going into the game as well as during it. Yes they should have won but we also almost lost. Imagine how ****ty we’d be feeling if we did lose! Anyway, onto next week.

Refer to freddy lussicks 4 week ban last week. Not a fan of the rule but kickers are being protected just like defensive catchers of high kicks.
if a player attacks the legs of a kicker yes BUT JA did not attack the legs. he attempted a charge down and SJ 's follow thru collected him. big difference between a torpedo tackle to the legs and what happened today.

It was the exact same action. Doesn't matter how hard or soft he ran that line. You can't do it. The difference is a leg break and four weeks on the sideline. Lussick didn't charge the legs. He went for a charge down 'of the ball" we need to move on from this.
