We need a Pommie & a Ranga ... urgently

It maybe just the faulty memory of an older man ... but I firmly believe that the cause of our current Premiership drought is wholly and conclusively the result of not having a ranga and a white legged pommie in our team.

Pommie and Ranga Grandfinal winners
1972 M. Reilly
1973 M. Reilly
1976 G. Stephens, P. Lowe, S. Norton ... Ranga Coach Biscuits Stanton
1978 Ranga ... Coach Biscuits Stanton
1987 K. Ward. Ranga P.Vautin Captain
1996
2008 Ranga S. Menzies
2011 Ranga S. Menzies

I firmly agree a ranga is important for the team, I dispute Menzies is a ranga though. He's brown hair. Plus you didn't put Fulton on that list Woodise.

Good pick up on Fulton .. but I insist that for the benefit of the argument ... and pursuant to the accepted rules of poetic licence ... Menzies is a Ranga .

Edit .. and Robbo was a Scotsman ..

I agree Pom, NZ, Pacific Island, Qld as we have such history of finding a good one. Woodsie you forgot 1987 Darrell William NZ.

Yeah ... but this thread is specifically pommie/Ranga centric ... we have always had good contributions from Kiwis and Islanders ... and still do today.

Fulton probably forgotten because there was black and white photos for most of his career. Menzies is a stretch but there must've been one somewhere in the list I reckon.

Plus Fulton was born in England ...
