Agreed MK Eagle, Farrer wasn't anything to write home about. Can't understand why people think he's that good. OK in my book, but nothing special. I doubt he'd make the top grade today. Smallish, slow, and suspect in defense.

If we're signing him then it's for depth. He's fine as a first drop center/fullback IMO.

agree boys, farrar did an admirable job but he ain't in the top levels we are looking for. I always thought if he was as good as some were saying why did he end up overseas??

Des and Crusher have got the makings of a top squad for next 3-5 years!! Kids like riccardi, whare, oldfield, hoppa, cunningham are all close to stepping up. Probably as we all mention a prop for Joe and Rodney in the future will be a help.

Farrar is no superstar but he adds good utility value. Not everyone in your squad can be a rep class player. Farrar would be a great addition to cover injuries and suspension, as we have seen this year we have had a number of players missing for various parts of the season. Need the depth with Hoppa going.

Why does going overseas mean you aren't a good player ?

Centre or Wing ONLY please,he cant catch herpies at a prostitute convention.....

well it wasn't for the big dollars, more like he couldn't get a gig in any nrl club so no where else to go.

Astro Boy was safe.
He got us out of a lot of trouble as a fill-in, esp while Brett was indisposed. For a l'il bloke he played with a big heart!

He was pretty awful under the high ball when he started out but he showed massive improvement by the end of 09, thats gotta count for something. If a guy can learn & improve himself like that then it's always a good thing.

Personally I'd like to see Oldfield get a run at fullback sometime, if only for my own curiosity.

Farrar did really well for us in our time of need. He did every expected of him and also made that great tackle at the end of the Storm game! Not sure if we are full strength he would be in the backline but great backup for injuries.

Nothing wrong with Farrer-some of you are delusional honestly. He will probably play as a utility or wing as suggested, but could fill other roles re injuries. I would even give him a crack at hooker. Very versatile-and experienced player.

The other options are Blake Davey and Ben Shorter from the NSW Cup, not sure yet on Ben, but Blake is looking better and better each time I see him and looked good in fullback last week, so cover there too.

The idea of Farrar playing hooker is whats delusional - its a specialist position, would not handle the defensive load & is hot & cold with handing skills. If you suggested bringing Le Strange back for similar money off the bench i would support your claim. As stated Farrar WAS an average fill in who would be lucky to get a gig at most NRL sides.

I'd have Farrar back in a heartbeat.
Who for - Robertson, Matai, Lyon, Robbo, Snake ,Hoppa , DCE, Foz or is he a front rower now. Glad the Manly selectors have moved foward. Not gunna bag Farrar - always tried hard but we do have better, thats why we let him go & other nrl clubs wern't lining up for his services.

One problem with many of the arguments against Farrar.Hoppa wont be there!!!.At the moment he is the key because he covers 3 positions and we probably have a false sense of security re depth.

Say Jamie goes down in R1 next year.Who plays centre? Whare is about the only option atm.Could not have oldfield or williams in a key defensive position IMO.Robbo and Wolf are a must on wing.Another outside back goes and we are in real strife.

I dont know about Davey,Shorter etc as havent seen them but on those I have seen then Farrar would be an asset at the right price.

Astro Boy = Farrar?

I didn't know that. Good news, he can cover a bunch of backline positions.

And he can shoot bullets out his @rse, that's gotta come in handy at some stage!
