With ANZ stadium having a proposed $150 million upgrade and campbelltown will get a new $400 million stadium where is the money for Brookvale?

Both these upgrades are part of the soccer world cup bid. Why campbelltown ? Brookvake would be a better choice being close to the city.

Surely the teams will be staying at Manly (where most international teams seem to stay when in Sydney).

If everybody is serious about hosting the world cup, surely they would be trying to hide C'town away from any foreign players, fans & media. It's not a good look for our country to have visitors heading out that way.

It has to do with population density and and transport. Sadly Brookvale is not an easy ground in terms of getting there and the local infrastructure sucks. Much nicer area in which to have a stadium and games but that will not be in the mind of those making the decisions.

Privatise the ferries, put in a light rail link from the CBD and the west, inject $30M into Brookie, hang on, it is a safe Liberal seat and we deserve two falling down hospitals, closed schools with demountables and a traffic crawl.

Please provide money to upgrade Brookvale oval so that our young soccer players can watch games like Côte d'Ivoire versus Slovania and don't have to travel to unsafe areas such as Campbelltown and Parramatta to watch games.

If the NRL was smart they would approach the Govn about money for grounds and then spread it evenly.. Just a thought..

The only grant the NRL went after was for their new headquarters. They managed to get $10.4M from the Feds, $1.0M from the NSW govt and are tossing in another $6M to ensure that they have comfortable premises. With a widening list of those queueing to get aboard the new Commission they will probably need more funds.
